  1. Just wanted to say thank you for the links and explanation on the matter. I've just gotten into PC gaming as of late... so I suppose I'll be encountering issues like this from time to time.
  2. Ok, so I've noticed some issues with the occasional crashing and I've heard that steam isn't exactly friendly with the DCS series. And anytime I land and attempt to repair/refuel is when the game decides to throw a glitchy fit. So since I bought it with steam, is there a way I can run this game outside of steam to ensure it's properly patched and reduce problems in performance? Or am I stuck within that single service?
  3. Well you have to forgive me on that, I googled "Warthog HOTAS" and was shown a ~$350 piece of equipment. XD If I get engrossed in this, and deem it a worthwhile purchase, I'll definitely consider the Freetracker and the T Flight X. I'll give it a few weeks to see how I acclimate to the game and controls first.
  4. Well, I'll certainly give FreeTrack a try in the future, but definitely thank you for the recommendation HugePanic. I'll give that a try shortly. Harzach, I'm honestly just weird. Though I've been using my xbox 360 controller as a makeshift joystick, and it does the job quite well. But I'm quite used to the keyboard/mouse setup, and most of the sims I've played as of late are space flight... so while it doesn't totally equate, it's the habit I've gotten into. And I considered HOTAS for like... 2 seconds, right until I saw the price :music_whistling: So unless someone wants to be really generous and offer to sell me a used one, no way am I going to make that kind of purchase.
  5. Well the xbox 360 controller doesn't work too badly, the D-pad makes for an alright view shift. Thanks for the suggestions, in the future I will consider TrackIR if I can find a decent deal.
  6. Well with most games a keyboard/mouse have proven more than sufficient, and sometimes preferable over a joystick configuration (which I do not have a joystick at this time). Though I'm considering trying out a xbox controller and seeing how that pans out as an alternative. TrackIR isn't in my price range unfortunately. I only need an option that either lets me edge-scroll the screen, or allows me to hold a button on the mouse to look around. Everything else seems to work alright, I just loathe the number pad view options.
  7. I just purchased this game via steam and I'm working on familiarizing myself with the control scheme, so far I'm loving it. My only problem is trying to utilize the camera. Using the number pad just doesn't work that well for me. Maybe this is a simple fix that I'm unaware of, but if someone could suggest some view alternatives using the mouse, maybe one that would allow the user to look around by pushing the edge of the screen with the cursor, it would be much appreciated. I haven't been able to adjust the control options in my favor, but we all have those 'oh' moments when someone else points out an easy fix. Much appreciated :pilotfly:
