Well yeah, but in game you don't have to talk to them, you just switch to their position. Maybe if we get something like AI door gunners in the future we might use the intercom to give them commands, but right now, there's nothing.
-
It seems to be a two stage trigger on the real Huey, so squeezing the trigger gives intercom and fully squeezing goes to radio. On the Thrustmaster Warthog it can be mapped exactly like that. That said, I don't think you really need intercom in an easily reachable location. About the only use I can think of is communicating with ground crew while the engine is running.

But that is not what luthier wants to do. Making a freely available solid base game with a Normandy map and several full featured planes with it is the goal of the project, and the Kickstarter campaign is there to collect funds for that vision. I agree that the pledge rewards are rather lacklustre, but hobbling the project to make Kickstarter backers feel special would be a serious case of the tail wagging the dog. The project isn't there to make the Kickstarter campaign attractive, the Kickstarter campaign is there to fund the project.

Corrector use and another rocket reticule not working!
Luzifer replied to ozTRipwiRE's topic in Bugs and Problems
The corrector? That's the throttle, it should always be at maximum during flight, unless the governor fails and you have to control it manually. If you decrease it, you have to account for the reduced power available and perform autorotation procedures if necessary. Anyway, it's hard to tell what happens from your description. -
ICS is intercom, internal to the craft. RADIO is for the actual radio. You also need to select the radio to use on the intercom panel. "3" is for the AM radio to communicate with ATC, if I remember right.

Heh, I've done that FOR SCIENCE. Just don't put the collective full down, then it will sink after shredding the rotor.

On digitialcombatsimulator.com the various modules are listed with links to the shop. The Huey link says "Pre-purchase" since it's officially still beta, while the link for the Mi-8 says "Buy now" like all the other released modules. Even though it's much less complete than the Huey. That's just a tiny thing that has been bugging me. :)

Which aircraft are you most interested in?
Luzifer replied to Griffin's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Prop tip vapor? Awesome, I have never seen that before. -
Ok, never mind. The real Mi-8 simply sounds like that. It's just that I was confused where that sound is coming from, since it repeats so much slower that the main rotor RPM. Maybe some interference between main and tail rotor sounds?
-
That is the collective, not the throttle. Previously, the idle stop button was repurposed as the starter button in the sim Huey because the real starter is not easily visible / reachable. People have been complaining about that, now it isn't the starter button anymore. The manual has not been updated yet, just use the Home key.
-
Actually you need to enable that option in my experience. Otherwise it won't move. You just have to bind a hot key for pausing TrackIR. Then LAlt+C to enable mouse look and your hot key to pause TrackIR and that should do it.

-
Sollte so funktionieren.
-
Ist die Turbinenleistung voll aufgedreht? Dann müsste der Rotor im Leerlauf 95% haben.
-
I don't know if that is just my faulty impression, or if the real Mi-8 sounds like that, but I think that I get the sound of a low RPM rotor in external view during flight. I get the normal sounds you expect from a flying heli, but beneath it I think I also hear the sound you get from a just started up heli on idle beneath the other sound. That was in multiplayer, if that's relevant.

I think you can't start a hot engine, at least the emergency aerial restart checklists require the temperature to be below a certain level. So you would have to wait for the engine to cool down which might take a long time.
-
It costs 30000 dollars to fire this weapon for 18 seconds!
-
To what everyone else said, I'll just add that the pressure drop and cooling effects are there all the time. Condensation only makes them visible to the naked eye. If anything, the cooling effect is reduced by condensation since that process releases energy.

"Awwww yeah, I'm sizzlin' hot!" -
In some video about the Ka-50 I saw a short clip of it doing the same. But then, that kind of take off is even listed in the manual, so meh, just standard procedures :P
