Hardware Changed, Need new key
Kilo hairline replied to LupinYonder's topic in Payment and Activation
do you mind sharing how you solved this problem? I have the same problem. I had to rebuild my machine after a motherboard failure....so I wasn't able to uninstall/deactivate before changing hardware. Anyway, I would love to know how to fix this....ED has been little help...and the key reset tool on the forums did not work for my P-51 install. -
Im still waiting. Here's the deal with me....Ive been with DCS for over two year and I have a couple of their products. I like the product very much and I am a RLP. I had a motherboard failure about two weeks ago and had to replace some hardware. Because it was a MOBO failure I was not able to de-activate my licenses before installing new hardware. Ive got every other program on my computer to successfully re-activate since the MOBO failure, except DCS modules....and Ive tried the tools offered by DCS staff in the forums....they did not work for me. I basically need to reset my license keys and re-install. I feel like this is such a basic customer service function yet I get nothing. Me no likey. Frustrated.

Everything was great until my MOBO failed and I had to rebuild my CPU. After my MOBO was KIA I installed a new MOBO and chip. I have now successfully reactivated my entire software installation except for one program.....you guessed it, DCS. Inquiries to customer support are only answered by an automated response telling me to run a file that does not exist on my hard drive. Ive read the forums, I ran a registry cleaner, I uninstalled, re-installed. No joy. No customer service. No love from me. It really is frustrating when badly implemented DRM like this victimizes legitimate paying customers....even more frustrating when you realize the guy who took your money has left the building. Upgrading PC worried about Activation
Kilo hairline replied to TimeKilla's topic in Payment and Activation
protect.exe didn't work. I had the option to reactivate or submit a report when I ran it and re-activation failed because of hardware changes. Unfortunately because by MOBO failed I was unable to de-activate before hardware replacement...now I am in limbo... and looking for official help. -

I guess I could use some help from an admin to know where I stand. After I replaced my failed MOBO I sent an email to customer support and I got an automated response with vague instructions to run a file that was not present in my installation. Basically, I was unable to activate, or de-activate through the program file after replacing my MOBO and CPU....so I un-installed DCS world and placed all remaining files in the recycle bin...currently re-downloading DCS world and modules..... What now???? -

I just replaced my motherboard after a failure of the old one. I was able to reactivate my a-10 module after using your registry cleaner tool...but no joy with my p-51 module. If I just un-install and re-install DCS world and my two modules will I be able to re-activate then? Will un-install automatically de-activate my keys? -
Any VFW here doing purely AA combat?
Kilo hairline replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Im at time zone zulu -8 (Pacific Time US). Let me know if you put something up. I have played a few p-51 MP sessions. Its really great except a2a is difficult because targets are not really visible until you are too close. The guys I played with sent me a simple .lua file that makes it easier to see other aircraft from a distance and it works pretty good. Im the meantime I am fooling around with the mission editor to see if I can create a basic MP mission. I am mostly interested in forming a litte squad to fly co-op on some good homemade missions. -

Axis control support for trim and mixture
Kilo hairline replied to Kilo hairline's topic in DCS Wishlist
Thanks, I found the trim axis control as you pictured for the p-51 (not available in the A-10???), however, DSC World doesnt recognize my Saitek trim wheel so, for now at least, I am unable to use it for DCS :-( Would be great it they added support for it... Would also be nice to have axis mapping for mixture control in the p-51 so I could map it to my trottle quadrant. -
Using the setup pictured herein and it is working great except there does not seem to be a way to map trim and mixture as axis controls so that I could use my Saitek trim wheel and throttle lever for mixture. I know this is more of an aircraft model thing but the trim axis support would affect at least the p-51 and a-10. Am I missing something?
