    Is there a Helmet sun visor implemented or can one be implemented? When flying into to the sun which is low on the horizon it makes it hard to see especially the HUD. It would be nice with other aircraft as well.

    You are fine with your current Oculus devices till Jan 2023, at which time you would be required to have the Facebook Account to continue using them.

    However if you buy a new device, like the upcoming updated Quest that is anticipated, then it would tie you in to requiring a FB account. Or if they release a new Rift before then, the same would apply.

     

    But yes, you can create a new Facebook Account. Just set everything to private and leave it alone, nothing says you have to have friends and all that.

     

    I have a Facebook Account I use for my family and close friends. I have never tied it into my Oculus account and likely won't. I do not like this move by Oculus at all. They would have to release a truly kick ass PC-VR headset for me even to consider it. By Jan 2023 I doubt I will be using Oculus unless there are no other options at that time.

     

    I get what they are doing, and it is good for the VR industry overall by growing it. But I don't have to like it or participate in it.

     

    Thanks for your reply. I have never been a big fan of FB my wife and made a choice about seven years ago not to do FB. I had talked with her about the situation and figured we could set one up just for logging in. But I completely agree with you by the time 2023 rolls around I will probably move to another headset. I failed to mention that I have a reverb but it has so much "ghosting" that it is hard to use. I will probably revert back to it when I get a new system. Which will probably be my first ever build...Yikes!! Again thanks for the info!

    Please indulge me for a minute and let me get this straight. I have a Rift CV1 and a Rift S and in two years I will not be able to use them, after dropping $400/ea? Is that correct?

     

    And secondly, I went to see about setting up a FB account and apparently I had created one years ago and now it has been disabled. I must have set it up for something else because I don't even know how to post on on FB! So now even if I wanted to or didn't mind using a FB to long in, I can't now. So are my days numbered with My Rift S because I will not be able to log in? Or can I create a new FB account just to be able to log in to my Oculus? Excuse my ignorance!!!

     

    I am not a happy camper!

    Creating a F/A-18 campaign

    I am currently working on mission 8 of a possible 12-14 mission campaign. I have been thinking about posting it to user downloads. The problem is the emersion maybe lacking do to no voice overs. The storyline should be good and most of the missions will randomized where you can play them multiple times with different challenges and outcomes. It's currently a F/A18 campaign and takes place in the PG. Not super challenging but not a cake walk either. I may make it available for the F-14 also.

     

    Question is: Is it worth it (for a lack of a better term) to post it without voice overs? I am afraid the emersion will be lacking and may be lack luster without the voiceovers.

    Vaicom Config window issues

    Yes running 2.5.6, I think I may have gotten past the stuck screen after a couple of reinstalls and DCS repair. AIRIO still isn't working great but I may need to work on the voice recognition part. I noticed I am having to repeat things twice in regular Vaicom and with AIRIO. I appreciate the help, will work on it when I get home today and will keep you posted. Thanks

    Vaicom Config window issues

    I am using VA 1.8.5 and Vaicom 2_5_20 and AIRIO 2_5_7. I am using stable and stand alone version and have my sliders set accordingly.

    My config screen is a least saving my settings after using run as admin. I am still stuck at 10 on the DCS load screen which I have followed the FAQ install and troubleshooting recommendations.

    Vaicom Config window issues

    About a week ago my AIRIO quit working tried troubleshooting it for several hours and no joy. I went and continued to use the other Vaicom features and just use the traditional Jester window.

    Today my Jester window quit working! I tried trouble shooting that as well and the only way I was able to get it to working was to uninstall VA/VAICOM. That solved my Jester window issue.

     

    Today I reinstalled VA/VAICOM but it will not save my settings in the configuration window and it will not show the module. I did try and delete the Export.lua file as suggested. I also get the stuck at 10 on DCS load screen (I do a repair every time I start DCS to get it to work). I am at a loss. I have had issues ever since I have installed VAICOM. I love the potential but very frustrated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I have the same problem. I can't get my AIRIO to work. It was working then stopped not sure what the culprit is. There is no response from Jester and in the profile the commands are "unrecognized". Have worked on it for hours.

    Advice on PSU and GPU

    I was wondering how difficult it is to change out PSU. I have a Ibuypower Trace931 which has a 600W nonmodular PSU in it. I would like to upgrade my GPU from a ASUS 1080 to maybe 1080ti. I am thinking I will need to have a better PSU as well. I haven't ever installed a PSU before. I have installed GPUs and RAM but that's about it! How demanding is it to swap a PSU.

    Hornet Roadmap Discussion

    Okay here I go! I absolutely love ED/DCS. There is no other sim on the market like it. That being said I am afraid ED is shooting themselves in the foot by not completing (at least in a reasonable time frame) the projects that they have started before releasing another. ED is causing distrust among a lot of their customer base. When that happens people are less likely to purchase products, and even less likely early access products (which funds completion of those products).

     

    My suggestion would be to completely focus the Hornet with the guarantee that as soon as it is done he Viper will come into complete focus. In the future offer EA products at a much deeper discount early on and be transparent when the projected completion date will be. As that time approaches gradually increase the price of the EA product. It's sad that EA modules never seem to be completed. Hornet, Viper, even the Harrier (Not ED's fault).

     

    I thank Mat for his honesty and wish the team well. I will continue to purchase ED products but will think heavily before purchasing EA modules unless I know an estimated completion date.

    I totally agree with Gripen! at least give us an update on when the VR FPS drop might be solved. In the mean time I have rolled back. Will look at updating my computer which isn't too shabby now (i7-7700k, Nvidia GTX 1080, 32gb ram). I will need to wait until the world is somewhat back to normal before I can upgrade.
