  1. Hey guys, I have a problem here. I start DCS:A-10C V1.1.0.9 (not using DCS:World) and it starts up fine. I will play a SP mission and sometimes the game will quit with the Win7 message "DCS:A-10C has stopped working" There is no error report that I can find. I use V1.1.0.9 because of the better frame rate. Any advice is welcome and thanks for the input. Flyboy
  2. Thanks for that.. those helped.
  3. I am not able to do this because I have a limited amount of internet... Thanks for the input though.
  4. Hey guys, I have a question for y'all. When running a mission, I honestly have no idea what I am doing. I know to keep my distance from SAM's and to try and stay away from threats, but other than that... guess-work. Is there any particular way you approach a defended target? What altitude do you fly at? What are your egress procedures? Is there a better way to avoid/handle SAM's? A little clarification on these point would be great. Thanks... , Flyboy
  5. Thanks, I'll give it a try
  6. Thanks for all the help, I know my system is pretty crappy for what I am throwing at it and I plan to upgrade soon, but is system heat buildup causing a significant CPU throttling problem? And of course, is it possible for me to get more FPS? Thanks for the feedback.
  7. No change from AA except for getting a better frame rate at the beginning. I think the problem is coming from effects such as fires and explosions. But is a 5 FPS drop normal for one or two burning trucks.
  8. Okay, I'll see what happens.
  9. I am using everything on low except for scenes which are on medium and textures which are on high. AA is at 4x, HDR is off, resolution is 1366x768. All of the check boxes are off and all the slider are dragged to the left. Thanks.
  10. Hey guys, I have a REALLY annoying problem here. I will start up DCS World and play my A-10C module. Everything is kosher at the beginning of the flight, I get a solid 22 FPS (I have locked it there). However, after about 2 or 3 minutes of flight, the FPS drops to an unplayable 10-15. Here are my laptops specs... A8-4500M at 1.9Ghz-2.4Ghz Radeon 7640G 512MB 6GB DDR3 RAM I think to issue might be RAM, but then again, I am no expert. If you have any advice on the problem please let me know, thanks alot guys.
  11. My budget for a hard drive is about $35-$50. I would like to get a better HDD, or even a decent SSD, but I am already over budget and don't need to add anything else to the price. And the hard drive is something that can easily be added on too. Thanks a lot though.
  12. Okay, here's my "overhauled" build. Take a look at it and let me know what you think. Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z77-DS3H CPU: Intel Core i5-3450 Ivy Bridge 3.1GHz (3.5GHz Turbo) Case: Rosewill LINE GLOW ATX Mid Tower Computer Case Hard Drive: SAMSUNG 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s GPU: Radeon HD 7850 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 Power Supply: COOLMAX CU-600B 600W ATX 12V v2.2 Modular I chose the i5-3450 because it was cheap and had a lot of nice specs. I of course had to change my motherboard and I am happy with my new one. RAM didn't really change but the GPU is now a 7850 which is WAY better than a 7750. Let me know what you think... Any comment is appreciated. Thanks.
  13. Right, the only reason I have an AMD processor and mobo is because my budget is really tight and AMD chips are a ton cheaper. Personally I don't think there very much difference between the two brands other than the actually chip specs. I definitely will upgrade the GPU to a 7850. Thanks for all the help.
  14. Is there an alternative that you recommend?? Maybe a 7850?
  15. Hey guys, I am thinking about building this computer and would like you to check it over for me and tell what you think, mainly I am going to be playing A-10C and some other flight sims like FSX and IL-2. 16. Hey guys, I have a quick question... I have an AMD A8-4500M with a speed of 1.9 gigs and a turbo speed of 2.8 gigs. Using CPUZ, I was able to monitor the CPU speed and only saw it going up to 2.3 gigs when I play DCS-A-10C. I have the power profile set to gaming. Is there any reason for this. Thanks alot guys.
