" but I have been turning them down lately in the interest of FPS..." With an I7-980 Extreme ??

Thanks very much , will try them now . Daft question probably but if I want to create a separate CCC profile for DCS do I select the C:\Programme Files\ Eagle dynamics\DCS World\Bin\DCS_Updater exe or the Launcher exe ? Cheers

Hi Folks, I have installed a Sapphire HD7870 XT Boost and am trying to find the best setup for DCS KA-50 , A-10 etc in the CCC Am trawling through posts but as yet no joy. Would I be best off making a separate profile and if so what would be the best settings (settings in image are random , not mine) Thanks Win 7 pro 64 , Asrock Extreme6 Z77, I5-3570k 4.4 , 8 GB 10700 , 120 GB SSD , HD 7870 XT Boost

Hi JH, Yep on SSD and have reduced screen res , tried lowering all in game settings and tinkering in bios. I can't understand why the fps drop so low when I'm in cockpit facing any activity or externally facing same direction. Surely if it was a cpu prob the frame rate would stay low no matter what direction I was facing while it did the maths. But flying or facing away from action area I get constant 40 fps (maxfps set) I'll keep tinkering

Hi Folks, trying to set max fps to 29 as per last version but not sure about new autoexec.cfg file method Have read read me but want to make sure I'm doing it right Do I just open the file with notepad Add the line: options.graphics.maxfps = 29 Exactly as it appears above , one line on its own , and just save ? Thanks

Cheers Yellownet, Think I'll hold off new cpu/mobo combo just yet and tinker more with the settings. Failing that I'll just fly during any lulls or ceasefires :-) Thanks again

Track as requested Hi folks, First attempt at a track record so bear with me Settings: High High Off Low High (low seems to make no fps diff) Off 1440x900 16:10 1 Screen 256 8X Off 0m 1500 150000 Vsynched to monitor Full screen No mirrors ghj.trk

Hi folks, Have just completed a complete un-install & re-install of new update with same problem on following spec: Xeon X5680 (6 core , 3.33ghz , turbo on) 8 gb ddr3 1333, Sapphire HD 7870 2 GB XT BOOST , 120 gb ssd , single 20" monitor, win 7 64 I have vsynch on and the fps is a steady 60 fps (over water & city) matched to my monitor refresh rate What I have noticed is when I point cockpit towards any activity ( if i switch labels on I can see activity in distance) or an external view in direction of activity my fps will suddenly drop to an average of 8 - 13 fps . Even during a cold start on ramp if I look through cockpit to an area thats got activity I get big fps drop. Turning away from activity direction will see fps go back up to around 60 ( I.e. flying in opposite direction) . In game settings are medium with water/shadows low & no civ traffic / HDR or TSSAA Also tried overclocking card slightly which sees a big jump in 3dmark but no difference in DCS Can anyone point me towards a cure? Is this a multi-core issue possibly ? Seem to be able to play anything else on high settings at top fps rate with no issues (arma3 , Bioshock) Thanks in advance
