  1. While the tutorials for A10-c are quite good and go a long way to teaching how to operate the aircraft and deploy its weapons etc, that's all it covers. It then leaves you with no understanding on exactly what to do in a mission. It would be nice to have a few more tuts covering different types of missions (CAS etc) and basic procedures for said missions. Things like what to do when you reach a "fence" waypoint, or an IP waypoint. When to circle and look for targets, or call JTAC to find them (even one covering what JTAC is would be nice). Just to help other people like me who are at the point where they know how to fly, use weapons, CMS etc, but go into missions (other than the "fly here and kill these stationary targets at WP") wondering what the hell your meant to do other than follow waypoints till u get shot down.
  2. Surely a script to edit the config file, then another to reload it into memory wouldn't be that hard to write
  3. Easier controls for free camera - WASD/arrow keys + mouse to move it around for example. Also the ability to rewind would be nice.
  4. Useful when trying to setup new key binds. Sucks having to quit, edit, then have to wait for the game to reload every time u want to alter a key
  5. thanks for all the posts guys. its helped somewhat. I'm still about to quit trying with this game on account of never being able to see anything. My last mission was a quick launch game. I entered the game, imediatly put myself into a holding orbit and started writing down bullseye calls. continued to circle while not actually finding targets, then got shot down by 2 migs who apparently (according to the track playback) were tailing me for about 2 mins before killing me and i didn't even see them once... frustration...
  6. I've spent the last couple of months learning how to operate the A10 and I feel I'm at a point now where I should be able to successfully complete missions. Apart from the frustrations of never actually being able to find anything to shoot unless I'm given a waypoint or JTAC call with exact co-ords for targets, I'm also getting frustrated with not knowing what seems to be assumed knowledge. The main thing I'm referring to are things like common waypoint names, and what to do at said WP. Some I have encountered recently are: IP FENCE ORBIT MSN1 etc A couple I can assume, but others I have no idea about. I also have no idea what is meant by a lot of radio calls, e.g. "Mudspike" or "pop-up blah blah hot" etc. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good tutorial on these kinds of things? Or one that covers basic operating procedures for flying a mission?
  7. right... I've been playing DCS: A-10 for some time now. I feel i have a pretty good grasp on flying the A10 and using its weapons etc. I know how to enter bullseye calls and how to use JTAC. my problem is... i spent 99% of any mission i do flying around in circles getting frustrated because i cant find anything to shoot.... This problem mainly happens when JTAC is too lazy to actually give you a target (tells me there's none, yet there's still bullseye calls being made), and i have never once found a target using the bullseye calls and offset page.. Am i doing something wrong? is there any way to make the bulls calls more accurate (saw one tut talking about mag variation etc...) and why the hell does JTAC tell me there's nothing to do when its the start of a mission and i haven't even seen a target yet... grrrr
