    Hi, 

    Same here, I love the Apache since age (since Jane's Apache Longbow)

    But for now I am fighting with the controls rather than fighting with my targets, especially at low speed or when trying to hover, I am using a X55 -Rhino Hotas with its twist stick as rudder (oups I meant anti-torque) controls. I guess the current hardcore mode is best suited for use with actual pedals.

    I think I just need some kind of "easy" mode regarding anti-torque (and maybe even cyclic) simulation here, no "special" trim tricks will help here indeed i am afraid.

    Anyway I am really happy to get back in this beast, this with the Kiowa and the Blackhawk ... so many Longbow memories ❤️ 

    Keep up the good work ED, I am confident we will eventually have a less "wild" Apache with some sort of your developer's magic 😉

    Kept the Harrier and the C-101.

     

    I was on the fence for the JF17 and Mig15 + 19 as well but, next on wish-list is the F-14 ... just waiting for the next discount ^^

     

    The I-16 and Yak-52 were interesting and fun little thingies to fly tho ... Thanks again for the opportunity ED !

    Mirage 2000 Discussion (On Topic Only)

    I hope it comes with drag chute, I think it will be more use full to us in the available maps even if the implement the barrier system in NTTR later on. Al tho, I do not think the drag chute is required for normal landing. I haven't seen the mirage 2000 (any version) land with a drag chute, exempt two photos of the Mirage 2000D. I wonder when and why it would be used?

     

    Chutes on M2000 are principally used in 2 situations :

     

    - on emergency landings

    - when chute's validity date is about to expire :D

    Now using Windows 10/Oculus SDK 0.8/Nvidia 980TI 358.70 drivers

    It’s getting a little better with each update, able to read the instrument numbers much better. Also feel as if I'm sitting in the proper place in the cockpit.

    Your comment made me try again, I wasn't expecting big improvements ... How wrong was I ?

     

    I just had a blast in the SU25T, wow just wow.

    Lowres is still a problem to see something in the distance or for some little instruments reading, but it is just impressive, for example, how real the runway looks through the cockpit when taxiing on it.

    And this, just when I was thinking about reselling my DK2 ... this can wait a bit more I guess :D

    The word eventually is a bad friend for french language.

    It is close to "éventuellement" which means "maybe" in french, whereas eventually actually* means "à terme, finallement"

     

    * and "actually" is another bad friend also ^^

    This is just hilarious ... and so sad at the same time...

     

    It is like Saitek/Madcatz just didn't knew about Windows 10.

     

    My issue with X-55/Windows 10 so far :

    - Keyboard binding spams while moving the throttle

    - Whole computer lockup when unplugging the X-55 (have to hard reboot)

     

    As for the "no Win10 ready drivers yet", it is not like if Windows 10 preview wasn't available for several months.

    HUD Software update released

     

    Hi,

     

    I don't know since when it has released but a new HUD software is available at official website :

    Drivers are still the same : X55_Rhino_7_0_32_81_x64_Drivers.exe

    But software is new : X55_Rhino_7_0_38_0_x64_Software.exe

     

    It seems all issues I had on Win8.1 are history (devices not initializing correctly until replugged at each software start, LED control not working, ...).

    Hopefully it fixes some random hard "Rhino Profiler.exe" crashes I experienced while ingame as well.

     

    Just so you know, because I didn't have update notification anywhere.

    Hey all,

     

    Having issues trying to set the dead zones on my X55, running windows 8.1 and the latest drivers for the stick, but can't even select the tabs in the setting window to alter the zones and set up. Its all greyed out...anyone else have this problem and found a solution.

     

    This happen here as well all the time, Led brightness stuck and Stick tab axes settings greyed out.

     

    I fix this by leaving HUD software windows open and by "unplugging/plugin back" the stick.

    This fix the problem until the next time I restart the HUD software.

     

    EDIT : Once you got everything setup (calibration/deadzones/...) it doesn't matter if this tab is locked, your previous settings will still be loaded correctly.

    Provided my fix worked for you as well of course.

    I am using an external USB3.0 HUB also (because I had some ghost keys issue on the throttle with onboard USB ports)

    kinda curious how everyone else is mapping the slider button considering it's not a "real" slider. It basically has a front button and a back button correct? What did you use it for?

     

    I use it for Airbrakes.

     

    For this to work, you just have to map it using the "command" method as follow :

     

    In the "Press" section, map : CTRL+B for a least 4 seconds

    In the "Release" section map : SHIFT+B for a least 4 seconds

     

    Known issue :

    If you don't wait full deployment/retract ingame it can mess things up.

     

    An actual slider would have been better though. :(

    Quick question for people who have it and play A10C:

     

    1. Does it have enough hats, switches, buttons , etc. to fulfil all the warthog's hotas functionality without resorting to using modifiers?

     

    2. I hear that it doesn't have a two stage trigger, has that affected your ability to use the gun? I figure that you can program it to do both enable PAC and shoot but wonder if the ability to enable PAC for variable amount of time before engaging gun was something to consider?

    I admit that I was lazy and didn't read all 56 pages in this topic. After I took the time to read them all , I found a post that showed me a picture of one users profile. I really appreciate that picture because it showed me both answers and I was pleased with the results. I could live with the idea of two buttons to represent the gun trigger.

    Are you on Win8.1 by any chance ?

    I had this issue as well, the first time I installed drivers&software everything was fine.

    Next time I rebooted the PC : impossible to use the throttle, only axis were recognized and buttons didn't work at all.

     

    I then uninstalled drivers/softwares, rebooted : everything is fine since that.
