Yea ... sort of figured I was miss-reading it .... I had an issue where --SOMEHOW-- my shortcut pointed to "update dcs" rather than the "load dcs" executable ..... the sim became quite bogged down and I couldn't understand what was causing it ... until by chance I just happened to look at the properties of the shortcut ..... still don't know how the shortcut might have changed on its own though,except possibly since I am in the habit of making a dcs directory copy (so that when I trash it trying to use a mod that no longer works with dcs v1.26) and I have deleted the directory and reapplied the backup a few times .... still doesn't make sense though.

Little confused about the term used ... trying to uninstall the original A10C ... the original A10 included with FC3 is the A10A ..... not trying to uninstall the A10A from the FC3 install by mistake? .... just a thought.

Just purchased the p51d ... I have the most recent update to DCS ... I have all the other modules for DCS ... have re-installed the P51D ... all other aircraft both modules and AI aircraft have full sound (except for the AI P51D) .... P51D has environmental sound ... thunder,crash explosions ... but no engine sound at all .... directx is is fully updated .... Windows 7 64 bit RESOLVED ..... I previously used a sound mod ... even though I kept the old "Effects" directory and just renamed it to "EffectsOLD" ... the install placed the sound files for P51D into the renamed directory (EffectsOLD) instead of just "Effects" ...... so I guess DCS couldn't find them in "Effects" ... Strange
