Im assuming the Iraq icon in the main menu after todays update is a mistake? Haven't read anything that says the map is out yet.

Hey SilentGun, I'm slowly working on both the USS America and San Antonio. I was working on the America yesterday trying to get the weapon sounds to work. Trust me, both are on my shortlist to repair.
Hey RWC, I don't think the textures will cause FPS issues unless it's a really large file. The Submarine files are fairly small. I will be releasing the submarine pack today. I updated the Encyclopedia file yesterday for all of them. - Also, ensure your graphics are set to run on performance and as well as your PC Power. Hopefully, the files don't cause you any FPS issues.
Great, Glad to hear it worked for you, Tromp. Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks for the update! the mods are truly amazing and i look forward to making some great missions with them!

Hey Admiral, i just found this thread with all of your amazing mods! i am curious if any progress was made on the San Antonio LPD and the USS America since your updates in May?

ive seen this too a few weeks back. It seems that from a distance certain ground units wont spawn in. i thought it was a render distance issue but double checked to see that it was still on high (ive always run it on high vs ultra).

Its the newest WWII fighter, which typically doesn't go on 50% sales until quite a bit after release. OctopusG chose not to participate in the sale.

I've been eagerly awaiting the F15E since 2013 and when someone posted a screenshot of it being $24 I thought it was a meme.
Picking up the module for $24 is probably my greatest DCS achievement ever
(also makes up for my loss with the Hawk lol)
ill probably make a custom skin with a $24 price tag on the tail haha

Excellent, sweeping, grand and beautiful shots. Really great stuff. The one thing I would offer purely in the interest of providing what you asked for is to make sure each shot has a place in the overall story. I got the just of what was happening, but rather than each shot telling a story it seemed like, although empirically beautiful, each was separate and not necessarily related to anything else. Please take my suggestion with a huge grain of salt: I couldn’t produce anything like this. Well done!
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll make sure to have each shot flow a little better in the next one. -
Hey everyone! this is my second cinematic video that I want to turn into a Miniseries. I would love your feedback to see where I can improve!

Looks like you're right! I wonder why they chose to model the Italian ICH47 instead of the US version. Either way I think the cockpit looks way better in this version!
That thing under the chin looks like some kind of FLIR that can mount a TGP underneath it as well
heres a good article detailing the capabilities of the ICH47 https://www.army-technology.com/projects/ich-47f-chinook-multi-role-helicopter/

Wanted to start some conversation about the upcoming DCS CH47! i have a few questions that the community might be able to answer.
I'm curious as to what variant are we getting? It seems like the cockpit resembles a CH47F with 5 MFD's or something along those lines (from the type of CDU that can be seen in the video). We can also see that the chin has something mounted on it, a FLIR camera or terrain radar maybe?

Start up looks pretty easy. Hopefully we will have it in time to help Santa drop some ......presents.....yeah....presents to all the kid on the naughty list.
Santa got caught by the FAA for an unfiled low level flight, then the TSA found some things on him during a random search so Santa may be a little late.

take a look at 1:25 in the video. Are those leading edge slats on the elevators? or what would you call those?

As someone who doesn't browse Reddit as frequently as here, here is the post from Cobra from Reddit:
"Release dates and our timelines are frequently memed here; sometimes for good reason, but we made our 2022 announcement with extreme confidence at the start of the year. This was based in having already spent a year developing the Phantom and growing our team into a full-time, professional outfit. We're spending a lot of money developing our DCS modules, past and present currently and no-one wants to release our next flagship earlier than me, trust me on that.
No measure of good planning could have predicted a huge chunk of our art production manpower to disappear overnight due to Russia invading Ukraine, and that I would be out of action for two months due to a family tragedy. To say it's been a tough and outright chaotic year is an understatement and a half. We've increased spending significantly and hired more people than planned this year to make up for lost time, but even at a full sprint and standing on the gaspedal only gets you so far. A benefit to this is of course that we'll be better equipped to tackle future challenges.
Apologies for the "non-answer" as to a specific timeline update, the situation remains dynamic enough for me to avoid offering a public committal. We're burning the candle at both ends to revert to the intended timeline. The power grid situation in Ukraine just this week is yet another factor that just popped up, uncertainty is ever-present currently.
To offer some detail on the Phantom itself- it's that we are working to make DCS: F-4E a step up in every way. We're going deeper and more detailed than we have ever done before, across both core and base systems (hyd, electrical, etc.) all the way to the frontend (Radar, JESTER v2, etc.). For our next slew of aircraft we've developed our "NextGen" core- which completely revamped every single part of our codebase and we're developing to a diligence and detail that is quite novel. We want to go beyond the F-14 and further ourselves and our products as much as economically feasible.
Overall, and most importantly, thank you for the interest and being excited though.
No matter how tough this year has been- getting a legendary module of a legendary aircraft in your hands is all the motivation we need to power through." -Cobra8472
Its unfortunate that its most likely not going to release this year but this gives a lot more clarity as to what is going on with the project and the company as a whole.

Ether one big cyber attack or ED's website took a massive dump.

From my experience (I don't own a MacBook pro) with how much DCS struggles on mid-high end PC's I don't believe it would run very well on a MacBook. I'm guessing you would get around 15-30 fps at most on a mission that doesn't have many units with low graphic settings.

hoping we get a Halloween update on the progress. this month would make the most sense to fully announce the Phantom.

F-35A Announcement discussion mega thread.

I just want to know if ED has permission from Lockheed to create an interpretation of their aircraft. As with many other modules in DCS (F-18, F16 and AH64) a complete recreation of systems isnt needed to provide a realistic depiction of the aircraft so im totally fine with them not modeling all systems available.
Im also hoping that the community has enough common sense to not start "warthundering" documents to make their favorite plane more realistic
