  1. I pretty much know that. I was speaking of the bigger picture.
  2. open DCS World click Mission Editor (use any mission really, even an empty one) find your flight, or place it somewhere (like an airstrip) click your flight for the flight editor (if the window is not already open) click the drop down menu next to 'Type' (which is 'aircraft type'). select A10C. on the bottom where the icons are, click the second one (the second to the left. this will open up the screen with the outline of the aircraft, which also labels the slots. slots #3 and #9 are where the pods in question are located. the bottom of that is the list of different loadout combinations (I haven't counted how many at default, but there's more listed when you scroll down) select the right one (if you're feeling lucky) save, and exit editor. open mission and view your A10C aircraft.
  3. you can find out if you try a test mission on a test flight. you can edit the mission and your aircraft's loadout. the slots you're looking for are in #3 and #9. personally, I'm not up to finding this out myself (and only just found out there was a minor match to the game at the moment, so IDK if it works this time around). so, I don't know yet.
  4. in the U.S. Army, there's a thing called a TOE or MTOE. I wouldn't doubt other military forces have a similar system. logistics, basically. a concept of this though is already in War Thunder (I can talk about other games here, right?). basically, you do earn mods for most aircraft, if they're not fully modded, and that some of them have repair and ammo costs. so, every time you land at a strip, or after you leave a fight, repairs and ammo replenishment can be done "on the fly" (if you allowed the settings; no pun intended) - sometimes its free, sometimes it's not. the cost of that is way cheaper than buying crews and new aircraft and training. not to mention, it's negligible for the fact that you are "paid" for each fight, and sometimes get more bonuses for every surface unit destroyed, or downed enemy aircraft.
  5. this is exactly what I get after the game crashes - something that seems to be common now among people who have updated to 1.2.6. and I guess it's common enough, because I submitted my ticket for a few weeks now, and it's auto-closed twice without a response.
  6. RWR volume can be reduced. I have no idea why it was so loud, that it was hard to hear the chatter. that's about one of the things that can be adjusted in your packages manually. I don't think anything else can be done in flight. otherwise, all your settings to that is in your keybinds list in the options menu. also, the game doesn't just use general profiles, but you may have other profiles to use at the same time.
  7. I was noting the difference between a system restore, and the restore for files. you can restore individual files, even in the root of the folder you want to restore. based on the documentation referring to deleted files, those could be restored as well, indicating that it could revert back to it's previous state. so, I'd probably have to disable automatic updating, in order to make sure it doesn't go back to rewrite to 1.2.6. even if I do the backup method though, at this point it is too late. amazingly, I've never done it for any game, or at least any game I've had that didn't work as it did before an update. developers are usually very good at keeping it stable. don't know what happened, but I am experiencing similar problems as reported in multiple threads, and have some of the logs from that.
  8. well, this is only a sim, basically. you do have options to have unlimited weapons. also, since you're flying, the aircraft could be used as a weapon, provided you may want to decapitate someone with your wings, or play lawn darts. :pilotfly: don't get anyone started on fuel costs.
  9. unfortunately as a Steam user, no joy. the files don't exist (because, Steam), and it isn't stored to the C: drive, except the ones that installed themselves there (non-core files). I don't even know if I want to take the time to revert a new install from a third party source, or wait it out for a newer update, as it is unplayable. and I came here from Flight. had a nice time there, until Microsoft messed up and practically got rid of all their games for most people. fortunately I could reinstall, but there isn't much left of it. I guess I'm gonna be stuck in Hawaii for a while. EDIT: there could be an alternative - Windows has an inherent feature now where you can restore files from a restore point, rather than doing a revert to restore point for the whole computer. haven't tried it yet, but it is theoreticlaly promising since Steam doesn't seem to have this feature, and the file seems to be excluded.
