  1. Hi, I originally had DCS World launching OK, but when it kept freezing when I tried to load my A-10C module, I tried a re-install. Now DCS won't launch at all, despite me re-downloading and re-installing five times. I've attached the .crash, .dmp and .log file I found in the logs folder (zipped), as well as the DxDiag.txt file and a screenshot of my error. The log file is the only one I could open, and is pasted below: === Log opened UTC 2016-06-06 07:31:43 00000.000 INFO VFS: Using 'Saved Games': "C:\Users\Charlie\Saved Games" 00000.002 INFO DCS: DCS/1.5.3.53279 (x86_64; Windows/6.1.7601) 00000.002 INFO DCS: CPU cores: 4, System RAM: 8075 MB 00000.008 INFO EDCORE: (dDispatcher)enterToState_:0 00000.011 ERROR Lua::Config: load error Config/main.cfg:[string "Config/sound.lua"]:21: attempt to index field 'sound' (a nil value). 00000.011 INFO Dispatcher: 2016/6/6 10:31 V1508170900 00000.027 INFO INPUT: Device created Keyboard 00000.359 INFO SOUND: loaded 1084 sdefs from "sounds\sdef" 00000.399 INFO SOUND: Using driver: xaudio27 00000.403 INFO SOUND: XAudio2: Using device ID:'{0.0.0.00000000}.{064ec227-1f73-4011-aa8a-f028c1ef7fcf}' Name:'Speakers (2- High Definition Audio Device)', channels: 2 00000.435 INFO SOUND: XAudio2: channel layout: Headphones/Stereo 00000.435 INFO SOUND: Using SSE FTZ/DAZ mode. 00000.686 ERROR VFS: Can't mount './CoreMods/WWII Units/Liveries' to '/textures//liveries/'. 00000.693 ERROR VFS: Can't mount './CoreMods/aircraft/Hawk/Textures/Avionics' to '/textures/'. 00000.696 ERROR SOUND: can't open proto file ".\coremods\aircraft\m-2000c\sounds\sdef\effects\aircrafts\engines\snecmam53\e_m2kc_combstart.sdef" 00000.696 ERROR SOUND: failed to load sdef Effects/Aircrafts/Engines/SnecmaM53/e_M2kC_combstart referenced in .\coremods\aircraft\m-2000c\sounds\sdef\aircrafts\engines\snecmam53\e_m2kc_combustion_full.sdef 00000.697 INFO SOUND: loaded 19 sdefs from ".\coremods\aircraft\m-2000c\sounds\sdef" 00000.697 ERROR VFS: Can't mount './CoreMods/aircraft/M-2000C/Skins/1/ME' to '/textures/'. 00000.698 ERROR VFS: Can't mount './CoreMods/aircraft/M-2000C/Textures/Weapons' to '/textures/'. 00000.700 INFO SOUND: loaded 10 sdefs from ".\coremods\aircraft\mig-21bis\sounds\sdef" 00000.708 INFO SOUND: loaded 4 sdefs from ".\coremods\aircraft\sa342\sounds\sdef" 00000.724 INFO WorldPlugIns: No 'registryPath' for 'AVIODEV_C-101' 00000.737 INFO GRAPHICSVISTA: Creating Resource "Unicode" of type 5 00000.739 INFO DX11BACKEND: TRUNK renderer init: showShaderError coreCount=1 00000.779 INFO DX11BACKEND: Driver Concurrent Creates - 1 00000.779 INFO DX11BACKEND: Driver Command Lists - 1 00000.780 INFO DX11BACKEND: DX11ShaderBinaries::loadShaders 00000.780 INFO DX11BACKEND: DX11ShaderBinaries::loadCache Bazar/shaders/fxo 00001.518 INFO DX11BACKEND: DX11ShaderBinaries::loadCache done 00001.518 INFO DX11BACKEND: DX11ShaderBinaries::loadCache C:\Users\Charlie\Saved Games\DCS\fxo 00001.519 INFO DX11BACKEND: DX11ShaderBinaries::loadCache done 00001.519 INFO DX11BACKEND: DX11ShaderBinaries::loadShaders finished 00001.520 INFO RENDERER: Global metashader cache enabled 00001.520 INFO RENDERER: Loading metashader cache from C:\Users\Charlie\Saved Games\DCS\metashaders/ 00001.520 INFO RENDERER: Metashader cache: 0 (0) cached shaders out of date 00001.540 ERROR DX11BACKEND: rendertarget "rtDynamicCloudMap" not found 00001.540 INFO EDTERRAINGRAPHICS3: edtg::CreateSurfaceRenderItem() 00001.546 INFO DCS: try to write dump information 00001.547 INFO EDCORE: # -------------- 20160606-073144 -------------- 00001.547 INFO EDCORE: 00001.548 INFO EDCORE: # C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at E9491E00 00:00000000 00001.550 INFO EDCORE: 00000000 00000000 0000:00000000 00001.553 INFO EDCORE: E9491E00 0028F2C0 0000:00000000 ?FillObjectLights@SceneManager_Implement@@AEAAXAEAVSceneContainer@@@Z()+BD0 00001.553 INFO EDCORE: E94B51B9 0028F3B0 0000:00000000 ??0SceneManager_Implement@@QEAA@XZ()+909 00001.554 INFO EDCORE: E94C030A 0028F3F0 0000:00000000 ?CreateSceneManager@smSceneManager@@SAXXZ()+2A 00001.554 INFO EDCORE: 3F858826 0028F4C0 0000:00000000 00001.555 INFO EDCORE: 3F857569 0028F540 0000:00000000 00001.555 INFO EDCORE: 3F916741 0028FBF0 0000:00000000 00001.556 INFO EDCORE: 3F919DB5 0028FC30 0000:00000000 00001.560 INFO EDCORE: 774E59BD 0028FC60 0000:00000000 BaseThreadInitThunk()+D 00001.560 INFO EDCORE: 7761A2E1 0028FCB0 0000:00000000 RtlUserThreadStart()+21 00001.628 INFO EDCORE: Minidump created. 00001.628 INFO DCS: try to write track file Very much hope someone will be able to help. 2. No previously used it with Falcon 4.0 AF. The key test appears to work on, though it doesn't detect stick and throttle movement (guess it's not mean to because it's buttons only?). I'm sure I'm being dense but what/where is "HOTAS view to test axis and buttons"?
  3. Any other ideas? Compatibility is set, viper profile compiles and downloads successful, but nothing. Is there any info I could upload which would help people diagnose more effectively? Thanks
  4. Update OK, so when I tried to open the HOTAS Control Panel, it told me STTubeDevice203.dll was missing. I remembered this problem from a while ago, so placed the STTubeDevice203.dll file in Windows/SysWOW64. The Viper profile now 'successfully' downloads to the stick, but it doesn't work in-game. The skewing cursor, for example, seems to bring up some radio chatter commands. Not a lot else seems to happen, least of all joystick and throttle control! Other profile I've tried to download to the stick continue getting error messages (macro could not be found/opened)
  5. Thanks for the responses guys - I'd actually followed those steps before, though didn't previously run as admin. I redid everything just to be sure, and now I'm getting a time out message. I've (hopefully) attached some screenshots below. In case I'm being dim, here's what I'm doing. 1. Open Foxy, press F8 for joystick and macro 2. Navigate to Viper tmj & tmm files, click on either of them. 3. Then press F12 to download files to joystick. That's when the process which is usually instantaneous starts taking a while and I get the timeout message.
  6. Hi all, I'm having some problems getting my Cougar to work with DCS Warthog. Had a good hunt around the forums for a similar problem, but nothing fixed it for me. I am pretty much a total noob, so would appreciate some guidance. Using Foxy, the furthest I got it was getting my joystick to work - the throttle has so far not responded. Now I can't get anything to work. Was looking for a good profile to load onto my stick which would let me use my HOTAS Cougar with DCS Warthog - had a go with one of Viper's, and now several others too. Sometimes the profile uploads to the stick fine, but in game I only get the joystick. On other occasions, when I try to upload to the stick, I am told a certain profile couldn't be found, it wasn't in the same folder as the joystick/macro file etc. I also tried loading a .lua file from inside the sim, but to no avail. I've now really confused myself and don't know what I've done or am doing! In serious need of some Christmas simming, so any help would be welcome. Extra info: When I tried manually calibrating the stick, I was told certain value of my buttons are beyond the maximum for the settings (or something like that). But the throttle and all other buttons/inputs are recognised when calibrating.
