  1. The crosswind take off mission reports the wind from the wrong direction. The briefing reports winds from 017 deg (almost North). The plane is lined up on runway 10(almost East). That means the wind winds should be from the left. The winds are actually blowing from the right I am guessing from 197deg. The error contributed to me crashing several time because I kept putting in the wrong wind correction. I makes a tough mission even tougher. Please investigate.
  2. Just saw the Airshow Outstanding Job on the formation flying! I just got into DCS but I have been flying for a living for 15yrs. It's amazing how far flight sims have come. My first combat sim was Falcon. I will stop by your site soon. Keep up the great flying.
  3. Currently I am flying the campaign for the P-51D. With no GPS, or INS I can see how this was the only way to provide a way to navigate. My suggestion is to provide us with the Climb, Cruise, and Descent data. This data will really give us a sense of what it was like to navigate using a compass, stopwatch, and an E-6B.This type of navigation is called Ded Reckoning and is still taught today. Leave the green waypoint squares as an option for those that aren't interested in that level of realism. Another Idea I had was allow us to plot our routes in the mission builder then just display a navigation log on the kneeboard. This log would import the winds, compute the compass heading, groundspeed, and ETE. That's how it was done in 1940 (except all they had was pencil and paper) This is the best simulation I have ever owned. I have been waiting for this for a long time. I just need a little more data.
  4. Try a Wheel Landing. A three point landing is not always advisable especially in windy conditions. Read a book on flying Conventional gear (Tail Dragger) airplanes. Speed control is a must. If you float it is because your approach speed is too high or you may be pitching up too rapidly. Also watch your glide path. If you come in too steep it will be harder to dissipate airspeed. There is nothing wrong with this simulation. It is dead on. This is coming from a Flight Instructor and a 8000hour pilot.
