  1. Hello folks. Just passing by in the hopes that someone is willing to devote a bit of time towards making a few aircraft skins for a campaign. Since there would be quite a few and it could get involved, I'm completely willing to provide a private commission on them. I don't believe this is against the rules, but if it makes it any better they can be uploaded publicly after they've been done. It's being standardized for an air force, so the preference is to have only one artist so that they all have the same feel. If you're interested, either respond here with questions or please PM me if you'd like to show a portfolio and discuss a rate.   2. Still not fixed, Three Years Later. I don't get it. Why did anybody bother to make the faux-3d cockpit of the Fulcrum look pretty if they were going to just leave the rest of it utterly broken? Payloads were never fixed, so a bunch of munitions that were carried are unavailable in public servers. The radar, which is admittedly junk, became even 'more' junk, and yet the Fulcrum A can't even get any datalink info from ground radars. And now this: The ONE most important consideration in a MiG, your gas... and you have no idea how much is actually there, to say nothing of the persistent lack of a flow indicator. What gives? Why is this aircraft getting short-changed so much?

    MiG-29 Skins

    It's with any Ukrainian skin, default or new, and the description was based on the one for the MiG-29S you provided in another thread, Home Fries. Chances are the Ukrainian skins have a specific reference for it that I'm just not aware of. After all, I can't figure out how to wring the default description materials out of the empty description files. That would probably be a more productive goal in the long run.

    MiG-29 Skins

    It seems like here would be a decent place to ask, given the subject matter: Can anyone tell me what the heck this is? http://i.imgur.com/dd1xV2g.jpg The logo appears on every Ukrainian MiG-29S, on the left vertical stab, all the time. As noted by the screenshot, not even the old skins like the Falcons have provisions for removing it when necessary. I can't seem to nail down just where this logo comes from, or if it even shows up in the livery description. There was a file in WorldTexturesTGA.zip called ukr-logo.tga.dds which looks the part, but placing it in the livery and trying to null it out did nothing. Ideas?
  5. It did, to a large extent. But I'm getting an error with the files associated with markings, pylons, and pilots. They're all appearing in neon-orange with white lines. Do I need to have those files in the liveries folder along with the modded skins? If so, where can I get them? EDIT: Nevermind, that was very foolish of me to overlook the fact that those were replacement lines for the hard-coded objects. All I had to do to keep default was to remove those lines, or to blank them out simply use an empty tga file. I'd say it was successful. Thanks a bunch, Home Fries.
  6. Ever since I saw 59th_Jack's MiG-29A skins that could just be dumped into a folder all smooth as silk, I figured it would be worth getting back into making skins. But I reckoned without the definitions.lua that's involved. I've tried renaming the def files to everything under the sun, from frankenstein DCS world textures to old FC1 names, but to no avail. Is there anyone out there who can shed some light on this one? Using the liveries folders is all well and good for the A-10C and P-51, but what about all of those dinosaurs from previous generations that are still around, just begging to be included in missions? In this case, the MiG-29G, but I would imagine there are many others that could do with a freshening up.
