I think if it was the firewall I wouldn't be able to log in at all much less access the module manager. Besides, game itself plays fine. and that was also one of the first things I did, shut off the firewall and virus software. Which didn't help, still not logging into the module manager.

Hi Anyone else having issues getting the module manager to log in? Just started last patch (no suprise there huh). Keeps telling me the PW and/or Username is incorrect. Nothing has changed aside from the update, and it worked perfectly BEFORE the update.:thumbup: Thanks

So this was just getting to be too much of a headache...again, so I deleted the whole thing and re-installed it, again. Works like a champ now, till the next updater failure...again!

where is the dcs_updater.exe file supposed to sit. In the Bin folder or the DCS world folder?

my first question is why the updater dumped all the files on my desktop and not in the downloads folder. I did try to move everything there but it didn't. My other question would be why do we, who shell out money for this, have to go through this every time there is an update? I haven't enjoyed playing this in months because of this crap. and it's the same every year. Doesn't get any better.making a visual representation is fine, but it means nothing if they are not going to take the time to debug. not happy!

so first things first...why does it dump all the downloaded folders onto my desktop instead of putting them in the DCS WORLD folder?

Then no. I didn't even know that tab existed till just now, lol. So no. This problem seems to rear up with every new version. I actually managed to play DCS the last time for a couple days, then the updater screws it up again. Eventually I just give up and hope they'll eventually repair it, then I try again a couple months later. It really is getting frustrating considering all the money I've spent buying modules.

So when I ran updater in administrator mode, it did a search for previous files, then proceeded to update. It placed a 'downloads' folder on my desktop, a config/ autoupdate.dat/ and autoupdate.txt file on the desktop as well. then it proceeded to place ALL the folders on the desktop (not in the downloads folder on the desktop...or the DCS WORLD folder). At the end it gives me the 'successful update to vers 1.2.14#### ' msg. You think all is good and the updater FINALLY worked, you start DCS world....and get this: The version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you're running.Check your computers system information to see whether you need an x86(32 bit) or x64(64 bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher. This is the same message I got last update, and the only way I've been able to play this game is to uninstall the whole thing and start over. I get into it once, then this. again, and again, and again. when you try to run it as administrator, you get: "Windows cannot find: 'C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\ DCS World\Bin\DCS_updater.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly and try again." and yet I can find the file in that location... So any ideas this time around. Hi well, as per usual, having problems with DCS. I swear this stuff has been going happening off and on since Flanker 2.0 Ahh well. Currently my updater is refusing to update and the error I keep getting is: DCS_updater.exe cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit versions of window..yada yada yada. It won't do anything from the cmd window. just keep getting the same error over and over. This just started afte a fresh install and re-installing all the damn modules...again. At some point this isn't going to be worth the frustration. Feel like I've been on the BETA team for over a decade now.:cry: anyone else having this isuue with a quick fix? thnks in adv. arcturas
