  1. Can someone explain to me what the notation on the FARP/COMM/Cites mean? IE: Kutasi Farp is: MM05 / 38T MM 024 533 I know MM05 is the grid position, but what are the rest please?
  2. Thanks, Mirknir. Some very informative stuff there. I did notice the BRA calls, but didn't equate that correctly, I just assumed all calls were bullseye. Thanks for the links, I'm sure they'll help me ease into multiplayer. I've flown flight sims for a looong time, but until now I've never really tried mulitplayer on a *real* flight sim. Feels like a whole new world now. Edit: another quick question. I noticed the server resets every 4 hours. When it does this, does it reset the map?
  3. Mirknir, I flew my very first multiplayer on your server last nite. I was on the brink of throwing in the towel with DCS and it's limited mission/campaign system.....and that's all changed now. It was a lot of fun flying in a dynamic world like that, so thank you very much! A question or two from the new guy.....only flying the SU-25T right now. Is it possible to setup a flight plan with waypoints, etc? I see the AWAC calling out stuff, is there a guide explaining that? I'm assuming they are calling out stuff using a bullseye....is there something that shows what my bullseye position is? Something in the plane or on the map? You have two options for radio, the Simple Radio and Teamspeak. Which is used most...I tried using SR and never heard another person the whole night.
  4. Hi, looking for some opinions. I'm looking to upgrade the mainboard/cpu/memory of the PC I built a couple years ago. I mostly play two games, iRacing and DCS World. iRacing performs fine with my current setup, and DCS could use a memory boost. My current motherboard is at the end of it's upgrade life...my CPU is the best it'll take, and the DDR2 memory is expensive to upgrade, so I think it's time to move up the ladder. My idea is to upgrade the mainboard and the memory. My current MB can only use DDR2 and that's gotten expensive. SO: Gigabyte AM3+ Motherboard and Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB Kit. My plan is to buy these two first, as my current cpu (AMD X4 955) can be used with this board so I can wait to upgrade the processor. Then, in a couple months, I'll get: AMD FX-6300 6-Core Processor Black Edition with (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005ILWYJQ/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1UONG99K3UV31&coliid=I15BL1X26VYQ4D&psc=1"]Rosewill ATX 12V 650-Watt PSU to complete the upgrade. I already have a GTX 750ti graphics, and a couple Seagate drives and my current PSU, so I feel I'm good there for the time being. I might get a 250gig SS drive at some point to help with load times, but it's not a priority. So I have a couple questions: First, for a cheap upgrade, anyone disagree with that path? I'd like to stay with that, because I can buy the immediate components that will give me the 16gig memory and wait to buy the processor/PSU later. Second. There seems to be a lot of thought that Intel is better for gaming. At the risk of opening a can of worms, any opinions on instead getting an Intel Core I3-4160 Processor instead? This kind of breaks my upgrade path, as I'd have to wait and upgrade everything at once, but if it's a significant upgrade to the AMD processor, then I'd maybe consider it. Again, I'm not looking to build some sort of mega rig here. Also, what about DDR4 ram? I am a little worried that going with a motherboard that uses DDR3 will put me behind when I want to upgrade years from now (kind of like how having DDR2 does now, it's become VERY expensive). Can I get a motherboard that will allow me to use my current AMD processors and the DDR4, or is that a whole different thing I need to research? Anything else to add or that I've forgotten? And of course, thanks for the help and opinions.
  5. I like the idea. Sub sims have always been something I remember fondly. But this kind of looks like if The Sims had a German submarine addon.
  6. It's very useful. I'm just getting back into flying, and decided on DCS and this little guide has been invaluable to helping me ease back into the sim combat cockpit. The weapons loadout table at the end is proving to be especially useful. It's so hard to memorize all the different types (and the SU-25 seems to have many similar named/numbered munitions) and the table really saves a ton of time. Good job and thanks.
  7. And after some searching (sorry, I thought I had searched well enough before asking), it's a question that has been asked many times, all with the same answer. No. It also seems like it's popular enough that an option to remove it should exist, but I've yet to find an answer from the developer as to why it's not available.
  8. Is there anyway to remove the "virtual joystick" displayed in the cockpit? It covers up a few things (mostly the trim lights) and I'm sure it's omission might add some FPS.
