  2. Congrats. Any idea what you will select as your first 10 choices for aircraft? Not sure how they pick what you fly.

Midway through UPT it splits into two separate tracks: T-1 (tanker/transport) or T-38 (fighter/bomber). With T-1s you're stuck with tanker/transport, but with 38s the entire fleet is open.

Track selection as well as aircraft assignment is based off of needs of the AF and preference. You can have more preference based on your performance. So, the #1 guy/gal will have top preference, but ultimately, it is dependent on Big Blue's requirement.

    If I end up tracking 38s, A-10 is my #1, then F-22, T-38 Agressor, F-15C, F-35, F-16, F-15E, B-1

If I track Tones: C-17 is #1, then AC-130 and whatever else as long it's manned.

  3. Like jamison, i like your skin:thumbup:. Maybe you could do one in complete dark grey, like the F-15E? I saw a picture of the F-15SE with a dark grey skin in the dark and it looked absolutely awesome :)

EDIT: Here some links, for better understanding:

And yes i am aware that not all in these pictures are silent eagles ;)

I think it would be really cool to have some Strike Eagle skins for the C model. I've always liked the "dark greys" as they call them here.

The third picture is a Seymour Johnson bird. It's like like a 335th Chief green tail. I control those jets here at SJ and think it would be cool to see their liveries on a C.

  4. I've been enlisted for nearly 10 years and got tired of only talking to the jets and wanted to fly them. I drained my Tuition Assistance for 2 consecutive Fiscal Years and took a lot of CLEPs and DSSTs to finish my associate's and bachelor's in just over a year. Pell Grant helped with the few classes that were more than my TA could cover.

Shortly after completing my degree and earning my PPL with an Instrument Rating, I applied for commissioning. I rolled the dice and applied "pilot-only", but fortunately they thought I had what it takes and accepted me into training. I start Officer Training School on 7 July and report directly to pilot training in September.

There are pros and cons to prior-enlisted Os and out-of-college Os. I've seen really good leaders out of both pools and, conversely, I've seen really poor examples of prior-enlisted Os that were bad NCOs to begin with. You can't really paint with such a broad brush.

  5. 57th FW, 422nd TES is a weapons test unit. I'd be more inclined to believe the -9X was in regular squadron use if there was a picture of a combat coded squadron F-15E flying with it.

I can ask around. I'm at a strike eagle base.

  6. I thought there was a delay, i've not been watching closely, the map is changing so fast its like there are resets!

Shame the Hawk is only available to very few players, I'd have liked to tried out the recon.

Pikey, I've flown the Hawk quite a bit in the last round and a few times this round. The Hawk's Intel runs are really nice now, especially for FARPs. It takes coordination for the Airfields though since there is usually AA or AI fighters. Wait until the initial wave of CAS makes it way through and you can usually sneak in. Fighters should have the AI fighters distracted enough to let the bombers find targets.

  7. Hahaha this is hilarious. I am fine with the (very few) flaws in BF; I sure as hell couldn't make this work (especially for free). I just love all of the teenagers raging on each other.

You don't like it? Fly elsewhere or create your own. At least offer productive/constructive criticism. No one takes individual seriously who only complain, but offer no resolution or help. Jog on.
