If they follow their usual schedule, there wont be another open beta update this year.
So I think no TPOD HUD symbols this december... I was really not expecting this :noexpression:.
I am fine with the TPOD, no need to rush the ATFLIR for me, but TPOD without HUD is nearly useless imo...

I saw that its now possible to set the multiplayer chat font size in the settings menu.
Please also allow to adjust the colors (template and/or RGB value).
I cant read the blue color in chat.
Actually I cant imagine this is not already on the wishlist but I could not find anything related...

The way you are defending this bad communication practice is something between naive and ridiculous.
Here's a real simple fact...I've flown about 10 hours since Monday and not ONCE did it occur to me that my gaming experience was being dramatically impeded by the lack of a targeting POD.So... because YOU do not care about the POD, everyone else does neither?
Its absolutely NOT about imagination. People bought the module in the understanding that missing features will be implemented after EA release. That is happening, but rather slowly. Also it does not help to set release dates which are missing again and again.If you can't say you have mastered every single F-18C system and every single F-18C weapon and you can't fly a Case 1, Case 2 and Case 3 approach flawlessly every single time...Allowing the absence of the Targeting POD to impact your enjoyment of the sim shows lack of imagination...Additionally its bad practice to inform about a missed date exactly when this date is due. When I get the feeling that I cant hold a date I will announce this in time.

For me this is sadly not usable (for daily usage) yet so I will stay with my current setup (Linux + Windows VM with dedicated GPU for DCS :))

Some of what ED does is VERY complex and the implications are that delays happen.
No problems with delays.
Just look at how many threads have been simple moans, by people unable to accept that things don't always go to timelines in software delivery.Just ignore them. There are always some people who are like that.

No joy, DCS keeps crashing (page fault on read access) on startup.
When you say "DCS:A10" I assume you mean "DCS World Steam Edition" as it is available on Steam?
I will give it another try on the weekend when I have time.

There should not be any risk if you handle your disk carefully ;)
After you are back home you could run a DCS repair (dcs_updater.exe repair) to validate the game files but there should not be any issues.
There is only one thing which *could* be an issue and that is the windows registry.
There is some product information under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagle Dynamics (there are others too, for example there is one from LN for the mig21). If an update changes some keys or values you would need to add them manually on your own PC. No big deal since you can export registry keys but you need to realize changes there. I am not sure, maybe I would ignore this until I get some trouble related to this.
In case you want to be safe you could compare related keys and values or export them after you updated on your friends PC, just in case. But be careful not to modify things you do not know in the registry, it can be quiet easy to kill the PC changing the wrong things ;)

How about buying a cheap external case for your disk where DCS is installed on and take it to a friend?

Sure, but I just need my little marker on the HUD :)
Of course the TPOD is quiet usefull still. But what I dont understand is the "effort/gain ratio" of this feature. Effort should not be that hugh (compared to other features) to bring the HUD syms, at least the POV marker and I am sure many ppl. would highly appreciate it...
