  1. Another +1. We got twins last year and I wasn't able fly DCS since, because we're unable to save a mission's progress mid-flight.
  2. Pretty much this, yes. But you could build it for half of that price if you chose a cheaper (or even diy) case and the cheaper faders.
  3. I used those: https://www.conrad.com/ce/en/product/442844/Studio-fader-10-k-Mono-05-W-linear-ALP They aren't dampened, actually, they are deliberately very easy moving. But there are variants which offer more resistance when moving, if you prefer that. They are also a lot cheaper: https://www.conrad.com/ce/en/product/442121/Slider-pot-10-k-Stereo-05-W-linear-ALP But both aren't really dampened, it's just two levels of resistance.
  4. Linear. Log ones wouldn't work in this context.
  5. That was EXACTLY what I had in mind when planing it! :D
  6. Already showed this to Reddit, but was asked to post it here also, in case someone wants to take it as an inspiration for similar projects. I thought I’d share with you my home made flight controls. It might look like the cheap alternative to good controls, but building it was actually more expensive than my Warthog HOTAS combo, which is since only used for flying helicopters. Anyway, sometimes I prefer convenience over realism - so that's what I'm flying with. It consists of 6 ALPS studio faders and 32 Cherry MX (brown) mechanic keyboard switches. The left fader is controlling the elevator, the two underneath the buttons are for rudder and ailerons. To the right are three controls for throttle, prop, mixture (or for thrust with up to three individual jet engines, two thrust and one speedbrake etc.). 7. ^this Since our twins were born in April, I pretty much needed to stop flying DCS missions because of the missing save feature. I don't expect being able to save and restore the action in the midst of a dogfight, but at least the possibility to jump in with my mission progress saved and with reasonable accuracy regarding position and aircraft state.
