  1. I have deactivated all terrains and acft other than the F-16 already. After uninstalling the stable version there's nothing else but beta version on the partition in question. That install takes 20.2GB with 295GB of free space. Total size of the partition is 315GB. Yet I still receive the notification of "Not enough disk space in the download folder. Need 134737Mbytes when only 72715 are available". My C drive has 29.7GB free space. So that number of 72715 doesn't match ANY of the partitions.
  2. I am aware that this is the bazillionst post of this kind, but I would much prefer not having to delete and re-install DCS if possible. The computer has been dormant for about a year and therefore DCS has not been updated either, accordingly the update is quite big. Trying to update I get the message that some 130GB are required, but only something in the 70s is available. No matter how much more space I add to the partition that DCS runs on (and it can only be that one the updater is referring to, as the others have considerably less free space), these numbers remain exactly the same. Can somebody tell me, why the updater would not recognize the change in available size?
  3. So I thought I had found the issue when deactivating a Realtek driver in windows... I didn't yesterday the issue appeared again (with the driver still deactivated) BUT only DCS was affected. SRS remained at the same volume.
  4. New findings: The set (windows)volume level does not change. When the issue occurs and I adjust volume, it starts at the last set value. Not 100% confirmed yet, but relatively sure: only DCS and SRS did appears to be affected.
  5. Have tried this after noticing that a different USB port has no effect. Unfortunately this didn't work either. I have a few more USB ports to try. As to brainfreeze's post: not quite sure which way you mean it. 1) Is it related to overall volume level as it can be set in the task bar? I wouldn't swear that it's not, as I get an indication on screen when that changes, but I do not think so. 2) Does it effect all and every sound being played in that moment? I assume so, since SRS sounds are affected as well, can't tell for sure, as other than SRS and DCS I don't have anything else playing. I will try to find out and answer both possibilities.
  6. I will try whether the USB port changed anything first. The sound is crystal clear and it always affects both sides at the same time, so I doubt that it has anything to do with the headphones themselves. I have the feeling that it's either a connection problem between the headset and the computer or a software problem. Either way, if the different port won't bring an improvement, I'll give your suggestion a try.
  7. sorry everybody for being AWOL for a bit. I finally had the chance to test it out after I had run the update with firmware and another windows update today, but just as I was ready to call it a day, sound went quiet again. So unfortunately what you guys suggested didn't help. I will try yet another USB port and see if that makes any different. Thanks for the suggestions so far though!
  8. Hey everyone, I've been looking all over the internet and can't seem to find anybody who encounters the same problem: When flying in DCS I lately have the problem, that after a random amount of time the volume on the headset drops considerably to where I barely hear anything anymore. Like anyone else probably would, I counter this by turning up the volume. However, after another random amount of time, volume goes back to normal, therefore blasting out my ear drums. This happens at irregular intervals, sometimes multiple times, sometimes not at all. I can't seem to find the root of the problem, nor anybody with an idea as to how to fix this. It used to work without a problem, but unfortunately I can't pinpoint the time when this problem started, so I am not sure whether it was a windows update, DCS update or something random. I would be super happy if anybody had an idea on how to fix this, at it is becoming very annoying. Thanks woody
  9. Hey everyone, I've upgraded my computer, so I'm selling the old one. DCS has been running well on it, even on pretty high settings, however I am looking to switch to VR in the near future and that would not have worked with it anymore. Shipping is priced for Germany, but I'll recalculate shipping cost for anywhere within the EU. The case is brand new, as I decided to stay with the old one. All components have been moved into the new case and have worked prior to being moved. There's no harddrive or operating system included! Here's some details: Mainboard: ASUS ROG Crosshair V Formula-Z CPU: AMD FX-8150 3,6GHz, 16.0MB Total Cache, AM3+ socket RAM: 2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600C9 (CML16GX3M2A) CPU-cooler: beQuiet Shadow Rock Slim power unit: beQuiet Straight Power E-10 700W The GPUs stock fan has been replaced by a Accelero Twin Turbo III made by Arctic. Therefore and as I have no further documentation or old boxes anymore, I am not quite sure what exact GPU is in the computer, as the new fan covers what's written on the video card itself. It is a ZOTAC GeForce GTX and I believe it's the 900series. Comparing it to the manufacturer's pictures, it seems to be a 970. Feel free to contact me with any further questions.
  10. Has been sold. @ mods: this thread can be deleted
  11. same problem hey guys, I have the same issue. I've upgraded to a better computer and the Warthog stick, everything else is still the same. However, I am now encountering the same issue of random zooms to almost max. There's no keybindings that I was able to find. Any help to solve this would be highly appreciated!
  12. Hey everyone, I just upgraded to the Warthog HOTAS, so my old X65F has to go. If you're interested, have a look at the offer on ebay http://ebay.us/XYsGS6?cmpnId=5338273189
  13. First mission AAR day Hey guys, I've just had a go at the first mission and just before DCS cts'd I noticed, that even though I have TACAN set to 5X and A/A rec, I only get direction, not range. I was still a couple of miles out from the tanker and it looked like there was chicks in tow, in which case I believe the FE said to stay 1NM out. This however is difficult to do if I can't get a distance on the TACAN. Does anybody have a solution to this?
