  1. Ok, will try flying higher... Followup question. When I look at the flight plan map the waypoints do not seem to align well. For example JAYSN is suppose to be BTY 95 37NM but the bearing on the map looks more like 130 degrees, am I missing something? https://forums.eagle.ru/album.php?albumid=1297&pictureid=8478
  2. Hey, maybe someone on this thread could answer my question.... Basically, I am having trouble to find GARTH, going our of TACAN range. thanks https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=177793
  3. Thanks, I also found this thread. Looks Like TACAN requires line-of-sight which can get a little dodgy with the mountains in Nevada and the whole curvature of the earth thing... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=167517&highlight=tacan+range
  4. Hello All, I apologize in advance for the basic nature of this question. if someone can direct me to some good navigation tutorial that would be a big help... Any how, i am a new pilot to DCS and I have been learning the F-5E and was very happy to see the new Aggressor Campaign released this week. Mostly because I want to fly in 2.0x and NTTR but there was not much content there until now. So I was flying the Familiarization tour mission and most of the nave points FLEX, FYTTR etc are given as radian and distance form LSV. That was cool until I got about 60 miles out from LSV and the signal was lost. How do I locate these way-points( for example GARTH) when I am outside the range of LSV? Thanks!
  5. Ugh! I just bought the Nevada module last night. Today it is bundled with the F-5. Guess I should jump on the FC/F-5 bundle. That will keep me busy for a while! Not the worst thing in the world, but bad timing on my part. the lesson here is never buy a module mid-week.. Tom

    1st Module

Ok, after a couple of weeks learning the sim and the SU-25T, I am ready to buy my first module. What is the best choice... F-5E - Looks great, moderate level of difficulty A10A - Ground pounder like the SU-25T, moderate level of difficulty, older module (FC) F-15C - moderate difficulty, older module(FC) A10C - Looks great, looks like a very detailed (read difficult) module, looks very popular among on line squadrons. or something else - M-2000? Flaming Cliffs? Thanks for the comments! A bonus 2nd question. what is the best way to get in to multiplayer? It is getting lonely out here on my own. What do I need for talking to other pilots? Thanks
  7. Thanks, I will try these suggestions. I am sure it will be something simple. Well, went back and re-watched the tutorial... turns out that I do not have to hit the "lock" key on every target. just move the sight on to the targett and the system does the rest! :) So much better.... Onward and upward.
  8. Hi, I am new to DCS and have been working to learn the SU-25T. I have been using the training missions and following the Robert Sogomonian tutorials on Youtube One thing that I cannot seem to get right is locking on a target using the TV system. Sometimes it works like a charm and other times when I hit the "lock" button (return key) it pops the aiming pipper back to the starting point. I have even tried to do an active-pause to figure out what is going on... no luck. I am sure that it is something simple. Any ideas? Thanks! Tom
