Refraction is not modelled in any way in DCS. If it was, we would see it in warbirds for example. But then again, the visor is thin enough to render this a moot point I believe, and technology of optics has advanced a lot as well. I don’t see any weird things / distortions through my motorbike helmet visors either
-
I don’t see any other way. Changing a visor on a motorcycle helmet is likely child’s play compared to this (since there is no-built in tech in a motorcycle helmet), and I for one don’t want to change from dark to clear visor while riding You need to actually take off the helmet, and then it just takes a few seconds to pop off one visor and replace it with another. Again, on a military grade helmet this is unlikely to be that easy. I think it was YoYo who shared a picture a few months back, but I don’t recall in which thread.

Since the thread is tagged with “provide picture”, here goes:

It's probably still a bit too soon for any meaningful status update, other than "work has started". Personally, I'd expect something in the "2026 and beyond" video, and the first newsletter of 2026. We'll see...

This here is apparently a RL HGU55P helmet with Scorpion and clear visor, so they do exist IRL:

On my system, textures take almost a minute to load as well (after exiting the F10 map for example), so it's not just you or your PC. Latest update helped yes, but Caucasus still looks better at low altitude.

No you're right: I just tested it and noticed myself too on my Rhino. There are excessive G-forces being generated while taxiing: the aircraft recorded 1.7G while taxiing, and I'm sure that's not quite right You might want to record a short track and add it here. I have tracks disabled, but if needed I can record something tomorrow.

I agree, but once the toothpaste is outside of the tube, you can’t push it back in.
-
Since we have a hamburger MiG-29, this is only a fair request
-
It’s in the “sensors” category, if I remember correctly. It’s the same for the very DCS module that has one.
-
It's the best you're going to get (for now). You have a few options: - buy a larger drive; - uninstall some maps - use symbolic links Bignewy said the team will look into options to make the process more efficient. But for now at least, there is no magical solution. Flight sims are demanding on hardware: we've known that since the '90s.

By mapping a toggle switch on your hotas to toggle the pilot body on/off, and by mapping stuff on your hotas (including control panels) that you need to manipulate during flight.

Because, as I said earlier, I’m genuinely interested in learning why our experiences are different. Is it a particular headset? Is it a particular setting? One of the main reasons I use this forum in general, is to learn things I didn’t know Is that really so odd?
-
On which headset? I don’t see anything wrong
-
In what way? I'm genuinely interested. Which headset do you have, and what's your in-game gamma setting?
-
If you enjoy overexposure and washed-out colours, all the more power to you I don't. But you're right in that an ability to turn it off (using special options) is fine for those who'd want that. As long as it's enabled by default.

Fast and Long alignment question.
Raven (Elysian Angel) replied to Tarres's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
It will probably come at a later date. ED has a history of shipping modules with only rudimentary (if at all) INS systems at time of EA launch. -
Heatblur goed above and beyond as usual. I wish ED would give us earlier variants of their planes too: F-16A Bl 15 and F/A-18A. Oh that would be something
