  1. Respect for your hard work I just got through reading some comments on a user vid. that made want to come here firstly to thank you (RAZBAM) for doing what you do. I appreciate that fact that you are developing content for a very niche group and that fact that you are only means that we all share a passion. Secondly, I support your efforts by purchasing your modules and I will continue doing so as you develop content that interests me. I respectfully ask that you continue to support and develop existing modules like the M-2000C and AV8-B, as much as possible. I realize that you have new iterations of these platforms in development, I'm just asking that you don't forget about them. Love you guys. Can't wait to see what's next!
  2. If I can add something... I was actually looking at this thread because I was playing around w/ the CBU and wondering what the dust effect was too. So, just happened to be at the right place at the right time. Also.... The sub-munitions are supposed to self-destruct if they don't fire on a locked target. The idea is to keep from littering the landscape with un-exploded munitions. So, that again explains the secondary explosions on the ground kicking up dust and what-not. The CBU is an awesome weapon!... Glad I could help!
  3. Ok so, I just ran a test mission with the CBU 97 in 2.5 on Caucasus map and it seems to be working fine. I was able to use standard HOF (1800) setting and release at an altitude of about 6k. Using CCRP I deployed a single bomb against a group of 6 BTRs. I used the weapon camera to watch the weapon deploy and I saw the individual munitions striking and destroying at least three of the targets. I did observe some kind of sand or dust effect. No idea what that is supposed to be. Maybe part of the new explosion effects they've implemented? Hope this helps. Ok wait. Just watched it again and I think I know what the dust effect is. The sub-munitions that don't lock on and actually fire at a target are striking the ground and creating a kind of mini-explosion. You can see this for your self if you watch the bomb track camera and follow the whole sequence...
  4. Got it! Thanks Frederf. I'll work w/ QNH and go from there. Lord knows I need to practice my math...:smartass:
  5. Thanks fender. I'll keep practicing with it.
  6. I just read through this entire thread because I was wondering why I couldn't zero my Alt. at the field in NTTR just like the original poster. I even watched the old video on altimeter settings. Great stuff! I feel smarter already but, I think we haven't answered the problem which is how do you get height above the airfield on your altimeter in the NTTR map. Do you just have to set QNH according to the altitude of the airfield according to the editor and do the math in your head? Do you just rely on radar alt? If I'm missing something basic here, please let me know. I'm always willing to learn and understand. I think where this got confusing for me is flying Russian aircraft like the Mig21 or 15 where your alt. is displayed in meters and you have the altitude of the airfield in feet. Of course I know you can convert the alt of the field into meters but, it still seems overly complicated to get a zero level at runway indication. Thanks for all the input. Wait, I just thought of something else. Let's say you want to setup for pattern altitude approaching an airfield in the Mig21. How would you determine what the patern alt. should be and how do you make sure you compute that correctly in the aircraft?
  7. Thanks for the quick response Sabre. I'll check it out and look forward to any updates. Keep up the good work.
  8. Hello Sabre, First I'd like to say the basic and advanced qualification missions are awesome. Makes you realize how much work there is to doing it the right way. Now, about mission 09 in Basic... I've also been struggling with this mission. I followed you recommendation and made sure to target and fly as close as possible to the pre-assigned way points and that has helped. Not easy to do with the wind trying to blow you off course. The last thing I've struggled with is getting scrubbed because I was flying too low of the pattern altitude when coming in for the second landing. All I was doing was following the ADI for glide scope but, because you're closer to the field on the second pass it brings you in lower. With the strong winds in this hop I'm thinking the triggers need to be larger or just loosen the requirements in general?
