  1. Cheers The link to that file repository works perectly. I downloaded to my onedrive and the setup exe works perfectly. A million thanks, that saved my bacon.
  2. Does any one know of an alternative site that host sa download for the edtracker pro unit? The edtracker site for the pro version software appears to be unreachable just now?
  3. Many thanks, that makes sense. I'll give it a bash. I'd read somewhere that they were hardcoded in the texture and I thought somehow that there was a way of overlaying the zones. Turning the things off makes more sense. Thanks again.
  4. I have adjusted the roughmet to get a gloss on the base colour of my new skin but there are patches on the skin that correspond to zones where the bort numbers and other things would normally display. I guess I have to find out where these areas are on the texture files so I can adjust the green channel and create the same roughmet texture for them. Any ideas which roughmet files I should be looking at?
  5. XV420, old Royal Navy Pantom inspired livery is taking shape nicely now :)
  6. The numbered overlay by a poster I can't remeber now is great as well but some of those nitty gritty areas fall into small spaces. I now have a muti-coloured layer saved for future needle in the haystacks that looks like Jason's technicoloured dream coat.
  7. Found it. Drilling down through sequentially smaller quadrants is the way to go!
  8. Think I've found out how to find those elusive areas. Thanks to another posters top tip on another thread I found. Use the technicolour quadrant colouring of a layer! I suppose then you can keep drilling down the quadrant into smaller areas to narrow in on the missing spot!
  9. Anyone know where this small missing strip is for the tail in the template? I've hunted until frustration trying to find where this bit can be filled. I've used a bright green fill to highlight the strip. I have a full painted layer covering the tail but there's obviously another component on the template that overlays that I'm missing. changing the order of the layers doesn't seem to help unless there's a particular combination of layer ordering that I'm missing? Cheers,
  10. Thanks Jocko, that's a great help. Very much appreciated.
  11. Thanks Thanks for the advice. I'm using GIMP and I've found how how to create multipoint shapes using the path tool and then turn the path into a shape using path to selection. I can then have multiple shapes all on the same layer. Similar to what you are describing. I can colour fill each shape at the point of converting each path to a shape but haven't tested yet how I can globally re-fill all the shapes on the layer with another colour. There's probably a tool to do it if I learn GIMP a bit more. Thanks again.
  12. Hi all, I'm new to skin designs but learning steadily. I'm working on my first skin and hit my first hurdle. I'm doing the Hornet in a RN inspried livery of one of the old Phantoms that used to operate from HMS Ark Royal. I'm getting good at decals and roundels creation and manipulation but need to progress on to the more complex stuff. How do I best (easiest, quickest?) re-colour selected and defined areas of the skin with a new colour? Do I use my graphics editor to trace a precise mutliline polygon (using the mesh layer as a guide) on a new layer and then I can fill that layer of new entities with my chosen colour or is there a more efficient way? Many thanks.
