  1. Agreed, hence why I'm planning to mod mine. The Warthog's shipped TDC is just absolutely horrendeous. The Warthog is a great HOTAS with exception to the stiction and TDC issues.
  2. I've always loved Asus' products. In fact I've not long taken delivery of an RT-AC86U router. My RT-AC87U was terrible and handling OpenVPN traffic due to the Broadcom CPU not supporting AES NI, but the RT-AC86U maxes out my VPN connection. Asus' firmware has always been good and Merlin"s iteration of the firmware is excellent. I ordered the router before I learnt of this twin 8 VRM BS. I don't take too kindly to any company ripping their customers off, so I'm asking myself if I would have bought another Asus product had I known whatI now know. Is always been the way that when a company builds its reputation with good products once they've build a base of loyal customers they look to boost profits by finding ways to manufacture the products more cheaply. The fact Asus admitted it was a mistake to market their Hero boards as "twin 8 phase" VRM is admission they were trying to decieve their customers. People can dress it up all they want and post all the ridicule and criticism they like, but nothing can change a simple truth. But hey, every cloud has a silver lining, and at least in the cold winter months those boards will keep the hardcore Asus fanboys nicely warm and toasty :D
  3. Let's just look at the facts and not get personal. Did Asus save money with their marketed "twin 8 VRM"? Yes. Is Asus charging more money for their inferior Z390 board? Yes. Do the phase 4 VRM run hotter than phase 8 VRMs? Yes. Is overclocking with a phase 4 VRM board arguably harder to do than a board with an 8 phase VRM? Yes. Unless this Asus scandal turns out that having 'less is more' Asus has been trying to scam their customers. It doesn't get much more simpler than that. There's no sugar coating it just because up to now Asus' products have been sublime. Asus' reputation would have been taken a massive hit over this. Not because I said, but because people who buy their premiere products tend to use their brain to form their own opinions. Of course, Asus will now attempt to whoa back the customers they've lost to Gigabyte by releasing a board with stellar VRM set to blow the competition away, but we'll still be left asking ourselves " why" did Asus make such a stupid decision to market their "twin" BS!
  4. I'd describe myself as an Asus fanboy", but as soon as any company starts using inferior designs to cut costs and boost profits I quickly fall out of love with them. It's corporate greed pure and simple. I'm by no means an expert on motherboards, I just see through the BS and it's as clear as day the Asus board is inferior to the competitors whilst Asus have had the audacity to charge more for their inferior product. Asus clearly believed that their name would have sold their customers this 4 phase VRM BS. Asus will lose a lot of business from this stunt. It's insulting people's intelligence. Whilst many hardcore Asus fans will out aside this VRM issue, the fact stands that the Asus board is harder to overclock and the board generates more heat. Where Asus have attempted to make more money I'm sure they're now all too aware this stunt has cost them dearly. Their reputation would have taken a massive hit over this. I've been an Asus fan for years. I've love the aesthetics of their designs and their ability to stay a cut above the competition, so I'm astounded why they'd do something like this. We PC enthusiasts are anal about technology and specs so WTF was Asus thinking? Maybe Asus are trying to recoop the cost of being sued by the American Federal Trade Commission.
  5. 'Hardware Unboxed' had to buy an Asus ROG Maximus Hero XL board because Asus wouldn't send them one to review. That in my mind says it all. Quote:"Twin 8 Phase is marketed BS". I hear the VRM temps get high too.
  6. I've bought Asus mobos and cards for as long as I can remember, but having just learnt about their budget VRMs on premium boards, well, no one likes to be ripped off and Asus has just lost me as a loyal customer. I'm both shocked and disappointed. I looks like I'll be going for a Gigabyte Z390 board this time round. I don't expect I'll buy another Asus card either because they've left a bad taste in my mouth merely from their audacity.
  7. That's some serious hardware you've got and some serious cash spent too. Damn you're dedicated!
  8. It runs as smooth as silk. Looking at the benchmarks I don't think upgraging from my 1080 is going to be worth it, so I might hold off from upgrading the board and CPU. I'm waiting in great anticipation for HTC's Vive Pro 'Eye' so that might be my next purchase. If it does indeed use eye tracking technology I should be able to get away with running it with my 1080 too.
  9. I currently have an Asus X99 Deluxe board, a 5820K processor, 32Gb of RAM and a GTX 1080. However, I'm contemplating upgrading to an Asus Z390-E board and a 9900K processor. My question is: is it worth upgrading given my current build's spec?
  10. I purchased a Mixed-Reality HMD last year but returned it because being my first VR experience I had high expectations, so when I fired up DCS I was very disappointed with the screendoor affect and lack of clarity when looking at the instruments. Given the Mixed-Reality HMD's have a high resolution than the Rift and Vive I saw little point with trying those headsets. Now we have the imminent launch of Pimax's 5 and 8K HMD's I wondering whether of not I should purchase one. Given I've only got a GTX 1080 I might be tempted for the 5K as I heard there's little difference with the 8K. Will Pimax's new VR HMD's revolutionize the VR gaming industry with its high resolution? Will it render the Mixed-Reality, Vive and Rift redundant due to their inferior resolution? The bigger question being is now the opportunity to finally purchase a VR HMD now we have this higher resolution?
  11. Thank for the replies guys. I'm happy that it's not me not doing anything wrong. We're in OpenBeta so these things are to be expected.
  12. Yes I'm using NWS HI, I just want to spawn from another parking spot given you're given the option of 1-4 in the editor.
  13. I've been trying to spawn on any parking bay but PRK1 as it's too close to the CAT. Even though I can still steer onto the CATs from PRK1 I'd still like to spawn elsewhere, but it seems regardless what PRK I choose I continuously spawn at 1. If I use static aircraft to block bays 1 and/or 2 my aircraft will not spawn. Is this a bug because I cannot find a workaround.
