Can someone please tell me exactly what avionics mode and game mode mean and whether I should check or uncheck them in the Spifire menu for authentic flight? Thanks

I've assigned all my essential controls to my joystick (trim, throttle, brakes, pitch and roll etc) and they all work fine in training session. However, in instant flight only the pitch and roll control works...but nothing else. Am I missing something?

Working my way through the Spitfire tutorials in VR and the tutorial stops when I am asked to open the cockpit canopy....any ideas?
