Last time I had this problem, only a few weeks ago, I deleted everything in the folders(not Missions) that was the mod name and did a reinstall. I did this for the F4 but should work for the FA18 also.

I was able to stop this behavior. I had in the UI the Active Pause installed on the HOTAS. I tried removing it and it hasn't happened again. No biggie since I almost never used it.

I have had the rockets fire from on top of the Huey and even sideways in the last few weeks.
