They must have changed something overnight because it worked with me through powershell this morning. Shift+right click on [Drive]:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin then open with powershell in the drop down, type cmd, hit enter and then type DCS_updater.exe udpate ^^it's case sensitive.

I'm having the exact same problem. Not sure what the cause is at all but I tried manually updating to different release and beta versions and it still does the same thing. Gets to about 80 megs, freezes and sends my CPU skyhigh.
