OK so what I find is, dogfight mode FWD for gun lock, TMS up for bore sight, will lock target and then activate the aim9 seekers. If you long press on the cycle weapon button it will switch between AIM9 or Aim120, a short press cycles weapon pylons of that missile type.

I'm sure someone has done that as a mod. It might be lee1hy

Similar to this. Is there a button that toggles missile seekers between slaving between the HUD and the HMCS. Been few weeks since I tried, but in DGFT I can't seem to use AIM9X's with the HMD the same way you can in the F18. But i did previously a few updates back. I must be missing something

I just saw that they matched some of the ones in your first photo of the topic. And from what I've searched it is all we have right now. Just trying help :)
There are these too

Indeed ingame resolution option will only alter your monitor. As you use the Valve, the only thing affecting your HMD resolution will be Steam VR settings.

Thanks for the nice words Kirkey!
So cool to hear that you are living in the same town that Reginal Mitchel lived in!
He`s Spitfire is a bitch on the ground and a lady in the air that is for sure.
DCS did a fantastic job with this plane in my opinion. Must be very realistic!
Taxi: The trick is to use the brakes a lot in conjunction with the rudder pedals.
And you need good pedals too. After some practice this is a piece of cake.
You will also get a turning effect if you use the throttle a little to get
some air over the rudder. Also: check rpm "full forward."
Take off: Important with elevator trim one notch down, full rudder trim to the right, and
RPM full forward. Boost max 10. When these settings are correct just concentrate on keeping the plane straight with the pedals and pull carefully back at around 100 mph. ) The tail will come up without any use of elevator input. ) Hope this helps.
Tore
Thanks for the tips, I tend to try that anyway. It is at the point I pull on the stick to lift gently. The plane immediately just wants to aileron roll really quick. Like your take off was so smooth. I may have to check axis input make sure no conflicts.

Think I read somehwere else, the illumination was toned down slightly, to be more realistic as that they would look dim in broad daylight in real world.

All I can say is, HOLY MONKEY NUTS! That is epic, as a person who lives in the City Reginal Mitchel lived in, and a lover of things old. I commend you, that is brilliant!
I was somewhat deterred from flying the spit last time I tried. As for me round about the point of rotation on the apron, I start pulling pack on the stick, but the plane uncontrollably rolls violently too. Still no idea why! Such a shame. With the recent Normandy map updates you will be in your element.

What kind of settings are people using the VR preset?
I have just picked a RTX2070 in sales, in hope of better and smoother experience to the Vega 56 I had.
I have a 2600X, 32GB 3200mhz and the RTX2070, and Oculus Rift

Just switched to RTX2070 card form an AMD. fired up DCS jumped in F-16 cold and dark at Nevada in VR. All was fine, except when I then turned on the lights. Firstly turned on all of the panel lights which was fine.
Still getting 23fps (Need to find some good settings for VR). Then, when I turned on the flood lights. Everything went weird. It's like the game had frozen the image and the textures basically looked like the roughtmet inside the canopy. The game hadn't crashed as I managed to pause and exit to the menu. Did this a couple of times to confirm that indeed this does happen to the F16 floodlights. F18 was no issue and neither was the F14

I'd like to use the slap switch instead of running one of the preset programs on the CMDS panel. In all 4 program settings, 10 chaff and 10 flare are put out. In order to conserve chaff and flare I'd prefer to use the slap switch which puts out one of each. I can't find the key bind for it though. The switch does work when pressed in the jet.
Is it available?
Think it was mentioned in another thread, but it is listed as Chaff/Flare release key in settings. It releases 2 flares and 2 chaff

This is 100% correct.
Indeed it is, TMS up once does a soft lock like in the M2000, and still allows RWS. Pressing, TMS up again will then switch to STT.

I noticed this too, and sometimes if I've pressed the DMS switch by mistake, I can't go back the INV option then disappears from the MFD. I find re-clicking the master mode button takes you back to the INV page

Having problem with nose wheel steering, rudder works but nose wheel doesn’t steer on ground, in real jet u arm that but don’t see that simulated. Anybody else?
Make sure you have the NWS MSL step button bound. It then illuminates to the right side of the HUD

The first issue I find is, how to bind two triggers as the X-56 isn't a double stage

All my prior experience with GPU's was in mining. We looked at the Vega64 as a dog, very prone to throttling, much easier to keep a 56 cool. We would undervolt and actually underclock the core, we were pushing the memclock. You got 90% of the performance with the 56, with better reliability and less money up front. With water cooling, and knowing the memclock doesn't do squat for DCS, for the same money I might lean toward the 64 to get a couple more TMU's.
I tended to hate cheap GPU's but powercolor did OK with mining, my MSI seems to be doing OK with DCS to my astonishment. Maybe they are all reference cards, I dunno. Like I said, I'm not sure I'd sink a lot of money into it, and I think you're right on it, gotta keep that little pig cool, that's the key to the whole thing.
I went with the pulse vega 56 in the end. I haven’t done any tweaking yet, seems to be a pretty good card. And was actually doing alright with resident evil 2 at 2160p. My build is newrly identical to yours, i have he 2600x.
Any guides on tweaking the card clock and volting? Did you flash a 64 bios to yours?

To make the choice even more interesting, OCUK have a deal on this week so the 56's are now around the 270 mark or an ASrock one at £250. That one 64 is now £300 on the dot. Not sure which one go for, as you said performance is that close between the two.
-
AMD has taken the fun out of it, undervolting is a one-click operation in crimson. unclear that overclocking does much, i'd try it first before investing in the water cooling. The reason why the vega56 is the el cheapo king is because it's... well, cheap...
Cheers Mike, been a big help. Looking to get one this weekend. Seen a few different ones. Most people seem to recommend the pulse one as best all rounder. Although I have seen both a Strix and red dragon variant about £20 cheaper, although I am very local to overclockers. Or do I spend a little more and get the power color vega 64 at £320 albeit a blower design - as mentioned I already have a water cooled cpu loop, so won’t take much to get an EK block for the 64 and add it to the loop.
-
Does this look a good deal? Wondering what the stand alone part is?
I know its blower design but I plan to watercool it eventually anyway

Loving this on first inital flights, pretty much a n00bie when it comes to prop and warbirds.
Couple of questions
So my HOTAS is a single stage trigger (X-56) - I imagine those with 2 stage can fire the cannons and machine guns together? is there a way around this with one stage trigger do you think? Currently I have them both bound to the trigger with machine guns using a modifier to shoot them.
Also, still learning the start procedure so muscle memory isn't quite there yet. If you mess up the sequence slightly, like forgetting the magnetos or not opening the fuel valve. If I try again in the correct sequence the engine never seems to catch and properly start up. Seems only way I can, is to get a brand new aircraft. Is that prototypical?
