  1. Hi, Are there any resources that would teach a new player how to fly these planes? I've bought the bound manual but it is useless in that respect. OK, I am glad I now know that missile X was built in OKB Y under General Constructor Z, and I already knew what a yo-yo is. It's good to know how to operate the weaponry, but what about the basics, I still need to reach combat after all and hopefully get back home too. What are the correct procedures to take off, navigate and land on these jet planes? I'm not even sure whether modern jets need flaps to take-off or land, how much, all of it or depending on weight, at what speeds can they be used, etc... How does the HSI work? The few lines in the manual don't explain anything, nor does the first SU-25 training mission. I am flying on a heading of 270, the waypoint indicator shows a heading of 001, so we'll do a 001-045=316 and head to 316... Yeah, sure, if the Holy Scriptures say so :). Is there any doc that would explain that properly? Usually when the waypoint is at 001 we just turn to 001... Perusing the forums I found that people want to set their pedals to work as "toe brakes". There is nothing about toes brakes in the .pdf files that came with the game. What are these and why would I want to have them on my pedals (X-52 Pro + saitek pedals) instead of the rudder? I've tried a quick mission with my SU-25 vs a ground vehicle, just to fly around. After a couple of minutes I noticed my plane was losing height, checked the gauges and noticed my throttle became stuck at 20%, I don't remember being hit, heard nothing, and the plane was not smoking. Adding throttle on the stick would not add to the plane throttle. What could be the problem? Are there any secret procedures to restart the engine, any secret things not to do in flight so they don't go into this idle/off mode? Are there any missions where I start on the ground to learn taking off and landing, or do I have to learn the editor to do that? Thanks.
  2. Hi, I haven't flown a jet fighter flight sim since Falcon 4, so I've bought LOMAC and Flaming Cliffs from the lockon store, both boxed CD english versions, Ubisoft LOMAC "Revival' and Flaming Cliffs from god knows whom. 1. First I installed LOMAC, ran it, didn't see any Starforce popup at all as if there was no protection, closed it, installed the expansion then the 1.12 patch ontop of it (the first one in the list, labelled "for the english CD version bought from our store" or something). Since then every time I reboot my Vista32 PC, right after the desktop appears the screen goes black for about 30 seconds then I am told that Windows has disabled the Starforce driver because it is incompatible. Yet when I launch the game SF starts up, checks the CD then starts the game, I even went through the 1st SU-25 training mission. Rather strange for a "disabled" driver. Starforce Strong!!!11 :) I've ran other SF games on this machine, latest one being Black Shark russian version with both internet and CD checks, then there was X3: Terran Conflict before that, and haven't had any problems. All are uninstalled at this time. I'd like to get rid of the delay I am having upon reboot, so I was wondering if installing the latest SF drivers from star-force.com would fix it, or maybe reinstalling any of these "old" games with their working drivers maybe, but I am worried that Lock On may not work with newer drivers. Any ideas? Maybe people who have installed LOMAC then Back Shark afterwards can shed some light on this, as I suppose BS comes with newer SF drivers that overwrite the older ones: did LOMAC work afterwards, on Vista32? 2. I have noticed that the last SU-25 training mission where I am supposed to learn air-to-air stuff is for v1.11 only, as well as most of the SU-25T ones (and mind you, I bought the game for the air-to-ground planes). OK, I understand that most people still playing the game are experts, but some of us are just starting up. Are there fixed versions of these training missions available somewhere or being planned to be released shortly, or can one downgrade to 1.11 by just running the 1.11 patch after having installed the 1.12 one? Or else how are we supposed to get fit enough to defend Mother Russia? Thanks.
