  1. The anti collision lights are controlled trough a two-positon switch in the jet.

We do not have binds for the ON and OFF positions, but only a toggle.
The toggle (named ON/OFF in the binds) does not allow people with physical switches to use them effectively.

I wish there were separate bindings for ON and OFF positions of the anti-coll lights switch, as there are for other switches around the cockpit.

Of course, the digital zoom is too perfect but the number of steps is still correct.

Such things, however, deviate from the actual topic, otherwise we can also start asking questions why the laser goes through the thickest clouds, which no tgp should actually be able to do, yet they all can, but that is another construction site.

A relief the numbers increment in the right fashion indeed.

I don't think this is off topic, as the LANTIRN should have quite some digital zoom pîxelisation at its narrowest zoom level.
I hope this is simulated. Drawbacks of the sensors are as important as features are. And since there is precedent in the F-14B, it would be a very bad look if ED's take was too perfect.

What is realistic representation?  Is the litening missing a few functions and symbols, yes for sure!  But the real task, and that's what it's all about, is to display an image, and as far as I know, important functions like

    -white/hot
    -TV
    -zoom levels
    -digital zoom
     -LSS

Mostly correctly displayed, so in most cases you can work with it as it is intended for a modern f16c.

    Is that unrealistic now?

On the other hand we have the lantirn which will come with a few limitations and we can no longer fully use some aspects of a 2007 f16.

      Just my personal opinion

Mostly correctly displayed you say ?

I'm yet to see an once of digital zoom here. Current zoom levels are absolutely perfect. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think that's how digital zoom works, unless ED has implemented CSI technology into their LITENING pods.

I understand "Good enough" is company policy, but that doesn't even apply here. The current representation of the LITENING is grossly overperforming because you, in essence, have 18 lenses instead of two with 9 levels of digital zoom each.

Was the original implementation as it is now pure science fiction? Than it should never have been there with the sniper pod being the primary target for development...

It wasn't pure science fiction, if you will, it was LANTIRN software on LITENING hardware ... with some guesses.

Please remember that the SNIPER was a huge "maybe" for quite some time after EA release, and they weren't publicly commiting to making it until last year. Also, nothing tells you they know any better about the SNIPER pod. In fact, they could know even less.

What I don't understand is... We have the same pod on the A-10. Which is considered realistic.

And now we will get LANTIRN from 1987 and get the sniper pod quite a large time later after early access, left with the current IR implementation but without TV mode? Because there is no data to model the pod that has been on the A-10 for years?

Please... I am not against it, but don't leave us with a 30 year old pod for the time being.

Nothing to do with data on the pod itself.

All to do with data on implementation of the pod in the plane, and in this very case, reference date for the plane to be able to use said pod.

Maybe in the future they will push this date back. For now I'm happy they're sticking to their plan.

  6. Capabilities are unimportant.
If the plane can't use the LITENING so be it.

Just a shame they took years to find out, although I've seen people pointing out multiple times the current symbology is correct for a LANTIRN pod not the LITENING.

Also hoping this will push them to tweak the IR model. It's good but it's not tweaked properly, units with the engine on should be hotter, even if they don't move for some time.

  7. I don't have Community Management studies so I hope you excuse me if I'm talking rubish, but I don't think what you find important or not is relevant to us.

I dont think it is seen as a big deal, I honestly dont see it as a big deal. When these features come out, the Viper won't say Early Access anymore, that is the only difference, the schedule of release of these features is really unchanged.

  8. The distance to selected steerpoint on the bottom right corner of the HUD does not update while EOM or PB submodes are selected in the POS mode of the AGM-88C HARM. It always shows the value it had before selecting one of these modes (seems frozen).

The distance to active steerpoint updates constantly on the EHSI, but only updates on the HUD when going to the RUK submode. In RUK, the distance indicator updates constantly and is thus synced with the EHSI. As distance does not update, time to steerpoint displays 414:16 permanently.

The chevron on the launch region bar on the left of the HUD does work properly and descends as the plane gets closer to the selected steerpoint. Once in-range, proper Time-to-impact is displayed at the bottom right of the HUD, distance to steerpoint remains frozen.

This does not seem to cause any trouble to missile employement as missiles fired in these modes have hit.

I have reproduced this and joined a short track of it.

  9. Ok so I removed Sonic radar 3 as well as most of ASUS's preinstalled audio apps, but nothing changed. I was kind of bummed, then I opened the task manager and saw an unusual process running : NahimicSvc32.exe , I ended it and the overlay disappeared ! Thanks all for the help, love this community.

  10. It's a laptop, I don't think any soundcard (other than the motherboard integrated one) is included… This is what DxDiag has to say about it, if that helps.

It seems to me like some module (such as the navigation system modules you can buy) is getting somehow activated… i really don't know.

  11. Hi, I am a long time player of Lock-On then DCS. I had to stop for diverse reasons, but recently I bought a new PC and made a fresh install of DCS World on Steam. I only possess the Su-27 DLC.

Upon opening, at the very first loading, an overlay appears, it seems to be some options for audio parameters, but i can't click on it or interact with it in any matter. This overlay is obscuring some parts of the screen, which is problematic and unpleasing. It only appears in DCS, and in all parts of the game (Menu, editors, flight, as shown in pictures).

I have tried changing the resolution of the screen, fiddling with options, simplified avionics, labels, deactivating fullscreen, I even downloaded the latest beta of the game, but the bug persists.

It is incredibly annoying, I cannot enjoy DCS with this bug on. Here are some pictures of it.

My specs are a i7 8750H, GTX 1060 6 Go VRAM, 16 Go GDDR4 RAM running on Win10 family 64 bits. DirectX 12 is up to date, so are all my drivers.
