  1. Yeah that’s the opposite of what I do (stick full aft) but whatever works for you dude.

In reply to OP as long as you’re landing anywhere near landing speed/AOA, Have the spoiler brakes setup correctly and plant the stick full back once it’s settled down the Tomcat stops surprisingly well without using any brakes at al!!

push stick forward after tuchdown and some distance covered at the runway. obviously not on approch. you not gonna damage the tomcats landing gear pushing the stick forward Rolling down the runway. this action will press the aircraft to the ground, the elivators acting like a F-1 cars spoiler, makeing you get MAX downforce, there for slow you down very quickly. try it and see.

  2. jester is too slow to ıff targets when there are friendlys in the vicinity aswell. have 3 bandits at 30 miles and he does not ıff the targets in tws till the merge. now and again he ıffs maybe 1 of them and keeps prioritesing the friendlys that he has ıff'ed.! As soon as a friendly turns in to a unknown, he prioriteses the friendly bogey. this is a real problem. he should know what contact is friendly after it goes unknown and avoid prioritiesing it. that on its own needs a fix İMO. jester at the moment doesnt eaven have a 1 second memory. how did he finish flight school for gooodness sake ?

edit: you tell him to STT lock. but he doesnt hold a lock on a bandit but has no troble holding on to a friendly lock. its just a night mare right now. magicly PAL holds lock just fine……...

  3. It would probably be a good idea to elaborate on the exact conditions immediately before the crashes. What map are you on? Are you on a public server? Are you playing single player via built-in training or instant action missions? Are you using your own missions?

Likewise, go into detail (if possible) about what you are doing with the plane? Are you pulling Gs? Are you just casually flying around? If so, what altitude?

These kinds of details can enable us to really help Heatblur narrow down the problems and get them fixed quicker.

always in a turn and a pop up bandit apears on the radar. but doesnt happen all the time as l do fly for an hour or so without a crash mostly. so dont know the cause. but l can say definatly that each time l crashed l was in a gentle orbit turn with a pop up groop just apearing around 80 miles away. just coincidance prpbably.

  4. Jester has a real problem with not locking obvious hostel aircraft. Even after they lock us up and shoot at us, and RWR showing 2x29's, and he's calling, "nails," he refuses to lock them up. That is crazy!!! I started the jet up and took off as soon as physically possible. I didn't wait for anything. I told Jester, "Go Now" as soon as the second engine came online. I disconnected and taxied out and took off. INS came up before engagement. The two 29's never showed hostel on the radar, so it seems that Jester will not lock an unknown target even though every thing else says hostel. This can't be realistic...

    +1

  5. Thats cool

This other guy has a different playing style. He stays low but mostly strikes within 20-30 range, 20 is optimal.

Iam starting to thinkt he f14 is feasible, maybe its just me that sucks, i just started playing again lol

when you are low the enemy can use the terain to defete the aim-54 before it goes pitbull. but if you are looking down in to the gaps of the hills from higher above then the enemy will have trouble hideing him self useing the terain. mind you the aim 54 goes high when you shoot so when it goes pitbull it is comeing down from above to hit the bandit that is trying to hide there selves in the terain. so not to easy to hide your self if a aim 54 goes pitbull on you,

like l said '' better if you dont fight in the hills :) its just a monster at flat terain. :megalol:

Feasable ? its the best out there man :) just splitS and go back home when you get to 12 miles to the merge and hear jester say SPLASH on your way home :)

  6. lm owning everything in MP. wouldnt die once if l didnt want to. its a monster when used to its strenghts.! take off climb to 20 000 intercept a target. engage at 20 nm. go back rearm and intercept again. dont go in to the mountains and play the enemys game. just fly defancive cap. just like you would defend a carrier group out at sea ''FLAT TERAİN''

  7. after the patch jester seems to rarely IFF targets. and doesnt respond to STT lock orders most of the time at crutial situations. flew for 3 hours and countless times told jeter to STT lock at say 15 miles and closer but no responce. he once locked a target 20 seconds after l gave the order.

not eaven mentioning long range locks as he drops them straight away if thay are enemy. but manages to hold decent locks on friendlys at long range :) and his responces are exteremly late now on friendlys. he sais you locked a friendly very very late mostly.

it should be looked in to, just wanted to report my findings. cheers

  8. I guess you missed some socialization class in kindergarten.

That's how world works. You meet someone new, and indeed he maybe is a rapist, but you engage in conversation and activities and decide whether you enjoy it or not.

we did not get tought to speek to strangers and specialy rapeists and decide if thay were nice people or not in kindergarden. what sorta kindergarden did you go to mate :megalol:

  9. I can't imagine a situation where I would want someone to jump in the RIO seat who I don't already know very well. Since the Tomcat relies so heavily on not just good crew cooperation but also good crew competence, it is not (always) going to be in the best interest of the virtual pilot to just arbitrarily trust and hope that the random in the backseat can handle their part of the bargain.

Think of this from the perspective of the person in the pilot position. In order for them to do ANYTHING, the RIO needs to understand their role and what they are supposed to be doing. If they get a RIO who can't be bothered to learn, that RIO is (potentially) ruining the experience for all involved. Seriously. Imagine being in the front seat. You are going to intercept some aircraft and suddenly you find that your RIO can't read the radar or doesn't understand the difference between TWS and PD Search. Now you can't do your job and your time has been wasted.

I know it sounds harsh but perhaps this is good for the community in the long run. Having a aircraft module with a heavy emphasis on competence may encourage players who might not otherwise hit the figurative books to do so in a effort to be more desirable as a RIO.

It is one thing to have someone on your wing who can't handle the basics, you can still (kinda) do your thing. It is entirely another when you rely on someone in the RIO seat to get anything done. At this stage, I think Jester or someone you know and already trust is a better bet.

as l was reading this msg l thought to my self this sounds very fimmiliar to someone l know. so checked the nick name and l was right :)

  10. Let me put a few points to all the crying eastern Aircraft fanboys around, I really don't want to jump into this "war" but I will write it. You guys complain about being shot down by aim54 as you believe it is unrealistic. Now let's consider the advantages of the FC3 russian fighters you like to fly(I do as well):

    1. IRST -> In FC3 this is very simplified to balance the FC3 module, In real live, this is very unreliable system at that period of time, one of the reasons why western aircraft doesn't have it as irl there is no point of it. The detection range is low and depends a lot on atmospheric conditions like clouds, humidity, sun etc... in real life situation would be different as you would fly in very cluterred airspace, many assets, aircrafts, awacses, civil etc... you can't just lock some object and lunch on it, and the iff with a flick of the radar like in FC3 will not work, more on iff later. AWACS, GCI and AD is also much more complex IRL so fly low to stay hidden will not work as in dcs, so again, you wont be hidden just because you have turned of your radar.

    2. Datalink - Just think about it, what was the Soviet wireless data transmit technology during late 80s ? It is likely extremely limited in range and refresh rate for sure. IFF again will not be so simple as in FC3 datalink. Number of targets are limited to just a few, exchange between assets and the way it is presented is also limited. All this is very simplified in FC3. Needless to say they didn't put F-15 datalink to balance FC3 even tho in the late 80s US already had early GPS and internet already developed so 99% f-15 datalink is way ahead of the su27. Take ka-50 --> Late 90s bird and the data link is veeery primitive

    3. IFF.. well not much to say here for FC3. Very simplified.

    4. CPU power. Now all radar, datalink, weapon control systems etc... requires computation power be able to calculate and present target/navigation information accurately, and this is where Soviets was (and still are, good that nowaday technology is not so secret anymore so they can import) a lot behind. Just compare a Russian CPU to a US one... same goes to all electronics and digital tech.

There is much more to be said, but I will stop here. Don't get me wrong, I also fly Su27/J11 and have fun with them in 104th or other servers. But I realize that if those get modeled correctly aka like the Hornet/F-14 or other full fidelity modules, they would be much more inferior than they currently are. So complaining for aim54 characteristics which you probably have no idea about, just because "it doesn't look realistic to you as irl they missed a few times" is just... nonsense.

its ''mostly'' the F15 nad F18 boys that are crying as thay dont have the standoff thay you use to have with there 120s as the f-14 is mostly on red teams :)

  11. I can appreciate this argument, in real life things aren't as "clean" as in a sim. On the flip side, there is clearly a point where the system is just not modelling the reality very well. A RWR that just screamed "SAM launch" the moment you turned it on, is just modelling a broken RWR.

After flying the Tomcat regularly for the last few days and having many missions where the RWR seems to be constantly on fire telling me of SAM launches even though I've never been launched on even once, I'm kind of skeptical how realistic that modelling is. However, you might know better than me :)

getting launch warnings 100miles out to see when a sam fires at a friendly in land. launch warning for friendly SA10s ( maybe normal dont know but starange if it is normal ) and on top of this, jester is constantly yelling missile missile 2 o clock brake left break right when friendly sams go off. jesters dumb as xxxx :)

  12. Oh boy this thread is a doozy, like most that involve information 90% of people will never have access to, yet claim to have some superior knowledge on it.

+1 what thay realy want is not to get shot in multiplayer and get a 10-0 kill streak if possible. balance ? war isnt a game and war is not balanced.

some get killed in MP and come here to cry :)
