  1. Guess what?!! It's finally worked!!! Basically, all services on my PC that were connected to my NVidia graphics card (with the exception of the drivers themselves) were deactivated temporarily, as I booted up my PC in 'safe mode'. I then loaded up 'Setup.exe' and after waiting several minutes, holding my breath and nearly passing out, it finally & successfully installed. All I can say to anybody else having trouble installing, have patience and persistence. It's worth the wait & the effort. Once more, to everybody that has tried to assist me... thank you! Dunk.:joystick:
  2. Right... Eyes down, look in... :helpsmilie: Once again, thanks to everybody who has replied, but, after trying all suggested methods, including downloading to another machine etc, I still cannot get BS to install. The furthest I've got is 93% (trust me, I was excited!) then as usual, the install stopped and produced the proverbial error code 13 (I then stopped being excited!). **************************************************** A bit of editing me thinks... I've been trawling through the internet about this problem. I've come across a possible solution with regards to NVidia software that may be causing a conflict with the download due to one of the files for DS being an '.exe' file. I'll try some of the suggested solutions and will update this post as soon as I've tried them out, on the off chance somebody else has similar problems. Kind regards. Dunk.
  3. Greetings again... I've got to reluctantly admit, I give in. I've downloaded the files too many times to count now (I'm sure my broadband company will start asking questions soon about unreasonable download sizes!!!), using various methods etc from ALL of the mirror sites. The MD5s simply don't match and none of them 'run'. Frustration isn't a word that describes how I feel, more so now, due to the fact that I have attempted to contact DCS support three times now on support@digitalcombatsimulator.com Each and every time, I get my e-mails returned stating that 'delivery to the following recipients failed'. In other words, it's impossible to make contact with DCS at this stage. Could anybody please oblige and offer any suggestions/solutions to the install problem, failing that, any idea how to contact DCS support via other means? Thanks in advance & regards. Dunk.:helpsmilie:
  4. Here goes... 16th time lucky??? We'll wait & see...
  5. Still no joy... I have redownloaded a grand total of four times since my last post. Each and every single time, the MD5 does not match. one thing that I have noticed though, is that when I use a download manager, I get a download manager error messge when the download reaches 99% stating something similar to 'The file you are downloading has been changed on the server.' Please, oh please... anybody out there with any ideas, suggestions or miracles that may work... let me know. I really do want to get flying!!!:pilotfly: Kind regards. Dunk.
  6. Good suggestion. 'MD5s' are new to me, I have just checked them. Datacab is fine, however, the Setup file is different. I suppose all I can do is to keep trying to download the setup file and hope for the best... Thanks for the reply ZaltysZ. Dunk. "A pessimist is an optimist with experience."
  7. Hello all. Sorry about this one, but, I am well & truly dumbfounded and extremely frustrated... :helpsmilie: I very simply cannot install 'Black Shark' (English version). I have downloaded it a grand total of nine times (both the installer and the CAB file), both files are kept together in the same folder. They've been downloaded with both a download manager AND 'normally' on the off chance one method was corrupting the files. If I can get past the installer verification process, the setup program will eventually run. It will process normally up to what appears to be approximately 70 - 80% of the install, and then it will stop and show the now dreaded Error Code 2 message. My system: Intel Pentium 4 3.00GHz; Windows XP service pack 3; 4Gb RAM; 750Gb HDD; NVidia GeForce 9400GT 1Gb. For information, I have also attempted (several times) to install whiilst in 'Safe Mode' and likewise, with all software disabled, other than the essential services. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated  Kind regards. Dunk.
