Not like it needs another confirmation but I am experiencing this too.
WD SN850X PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive, 7800X3D and 64GB of DDR5 6000 you'd think would load the game pretty quickly but alas... it does not.

This file didn't work for me at all
SimShaker still says that the F15 is not supported...
You have to replace the simshaker.lua in the install folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\SimShaker\SimShaker for Aviators\Data)
The one in savedgames should get overwritten by it on launch. If not replace that one too.

Yes and all those are needed for DCS to continue to be relevant.
Jumping in and out of VR isn't, so if there is a engine limitation. I'd rather they spend time on something. Important.
This isn't the "request things to make DCS relevant" forum, this is the wishlist.
I wish I had a way to hop in and out of VR like another flight sim is easily able to do today.

I'm sure there is some engine limitation regarding this,
They have completely rebuilt the rendering engine to support multi threading, DLSS is coming and they are moving from DX11 to Vulkan.
engine limitations are just cards on a jira board, all they have to do is want to implement it.

Some alternative flight simulation products allow for you to start the game and enter or exit VR with a key combination.
It would be really nice to have a system like this for DCS for a multitude of reasons, but the biggest would be going in and out of the mission editor without having to close and restart the game.

Ah ok thank you I thought I was losing my mind not being able to align it.

Seriously the MT client head tracking makes me want to hork. Using the Pimax 8kX, it was fine in ST (and is fine in FS2020).
Is there a fix for this I'm missing?

You guys need to relax a little and temper your expectations.

90 degree FoV kind of kills it. Everything else looks great.

Hi,
Is there any simple .lua mod possible (like above to fool ssa into thinking a F1EE is as M-2000) that could work with the F4 from VSN). Many thanksYou could try adding a line to make it use the F-15 profile, that might be close enough.

Hi, just started flying the Mirage, which seems to be supported, will the F1EE need a patch to work? If so, any ideas when it may be available? Many thanks!
Line 434 of simshaker.lua in the Program Files (x86) and your DCS Savegames scripts folder.
change
elseif obj.Name == "Mirage-F1CE" then dataTable.name = "M-2000C"
to
elseif obj.Name == "Mirage-F1CE" or "Mirage-F1EE" then dataTable.name = "M-2000C"
However I don't seem to be getting engine rumble for either the F1CE or F1EE. Everything else seems to work.

Haven't been playing 2.8 and it's possible it's just a me thing but I cannot open the axis tune window.

It's kind of abysmal and not helped by the fact that the normal contrast ratio of most VR headsets isn't amazing in the first place.

Cool.
Still using mini usb? or have they switched to USB-C?

Anyone else have blocky clouds in the distance regardless of cloud quality settings?
I run 100% res on a G2.
Is that normal for VR?
In VR? Yes absolutely. It's "normal". It's not good, but it's normal. Sadly.

That's a pretty strong statement considering the 13900K isn't even out yet.
Not quite the right thread, but the 13900K is no slouch especially at 1% percentile fps besides avg fps.
The little orange line on these graphs that intel is trying to hide is the 5800X3D. I'm not the one making the strong statement, intel is.

The 5800X3D (and forthcoming 7900/7950X3D) will pull ahead of the 12900/13900k in DCS.

It seems odd anyways that nVidia has spent 10 billion $ to get enough 40X0 chips of TSMC and has produced 4090's since August and now all very expensive products are sold on day one.
There's nothing odd about it, these are typical nvidia supply tactics. Can't get people to blow $1600+ if you don't create false demand.
Mining is dead, the only people buying GPUs this time will be gamers and scalpers who are too dumb to realize that their time is over. There will be plenty of supply in the next month or two.

A fool and his money...
It will be faster than a 3090. Whether that's worth $1700+ to you is another matter.
Personally I'd at least wait for RDNA 3 to see where it falls. There won't be a run on GPUs like there was the last two years.

We have top men working on it.
Who?
Top. Men.

Set your FoV to normal in pitool and enable hidden area mask for a little better performance.
FoV large has a bug in DCS with terrain lighting that hasn't been addressed (or acknowledged) in over a year.

The same image is being displayed in both eyes essentially, so yes, it is a misrepresentation. I don't get to call my 4K television an 8K television because I'm watching it with both eyes.
You could arguably call it an 8k television if you watched a 4k image with each eye independent of each other.
Either way it's just semantics and marketing. Who cares? It doesn't deserve this much discussion.

Pimax 8kx / MT / OpenXR and DLSS problem
in Virtual Reality
Posted
I haven't played DCS in several months and wanted to get back into it with the DLSS addition to VR. However I'm getting a lot of jitter in the image/tracking and it's just not smooth at all, this only happens with the MT binary in ST with SteamVR it's fine. Like it's completely freaking out, and impossible to play.
Is this a common issue and is there a quick fix available? I've tried a combination of frame rate reduction/locking and nothing seems to be working.
