  1. I'm seriously hoping that the Ho229 comes together. The prodigal stealth fighter as a DCS bird? Hell yeah!

Actually, the stealthiness was incidental to the design. The flying wing configuration was chosen as a low-drag solution in an attempt to meet a requirement for a strike aircraft with a 1000km range and 1000km/h speed.

Though, Reimar Horten did mix in charcoal dust with the aircraft's wood glue to help absorb British early warning radar waves...

  2. Believe me the Phantom (alongside the F-16) is one of the most wanted planes for DCS, but I think VEAO looked into it and the company that owns the Phantom (I forget which company, is it still McDonnell Douglas?) wasn't offering a very good licensing deal, IIRC.
I believe it's Boeing who currently owns the rights to the Phantom, as they bought McDonnell Douglass in 1997.
  3. LOL :megalol:

well, this one is a real masterpiece, epic :rotflmao:

    :D

This is NOT a masterpiece; The author is shamelessly exploiting another one's original work in order to advertise their own. And, they didn't even pronounce the name of the original work correctly! (Nee-yan cat)

Also, the author is shamelessly forcing a poor animal to wear a costume that hinders its movement! My works, on the other hand, star a pilot who willingly uses a high-tech stealth aircraft as an extension of his body to party like he could never party before!

  4. I liked the beginning; It really set a somber, gritty mood. Appropriate for WWII, especially near the end for the Germans.

But then, for the next several minutes, dramatic music plays while the 109s just...fly around. They even look like they're playing at times. All the while, with the dramatic music playing, I'm anticipating something happening; An enemy attacking.

And then, unsurprisingly for this DCS player, they meet a formation of the only WWII-era allied aircraft currently available: Mustangs. Fair, fair. Though, I personally would have liked it if the Mustangs had suddenly come from above out of nowhere in a sneak attack, as it would have been more dramatic and unexpected. I also think such an attack would have worked well with the anticipation one experienced in the earlier scenes I mentioned, instead of them consisting solely of the 109s just flying around...

Once the two sides did meet, though, the dogfight action was cool to watch. I wonder how accurate it is to have the 109s winning, though, as there weren't much of any skilled German fighter pilots left towards the end of the war...

Funnily enough, the credits scene was the part that I enjoyed the most. A lone 109 pilot, freed from the burdens of war, flying off peacefully into a faraway land to start a new life. The war is now behind him.

Constructive criticism aside, though, I can tell that you guys put a good amount of effort into this work. Kudos to you all for that. :) Flaws aside, it did keep my interest.

  5. Hi,

I currently have $33 in bonus credit good toward DCS modules. I would like to use this credit to purchase the Bf-109, but this aircraft is presently on sale. As I understand, I cannot use my credit on an aircraft that is on sale. Also, as I understand, my bonus credit will expire on January 1st.

Could we work something out such that I could use my bonus credit toward a purchase of the Bf-109 for full price before January 1st?

  6. Ya know, despite how clunky this fighter is sounding, with its 20-min-use radar, its hastily laid-out cockpit, and mediocre visibility and handling, I think I just might have to get this module for the campaigns. The default campaign, taking place between two fictitious countries, ought to be interesting enough. Against All Odds, though, sounds particularly intriguing; The storyline reminds me of something you'd see in one of the pre-Assault-Horizon Ace Combat games. Also, the campaign's utilization of guerrilla tactics, much like those that the North Vietnamese MiG-21 pilots used against the US with their MiG-21s, ought to make for some fresh, interesting gameplay.

  7. We had the full motion sims in flight school that we used for a about a week or so. They are of course better than the non motion ones but even still it's not really "the same".

There was always a running gag that if you can fly in real life then you can't fly the sim and if you can fly the sim you can't fly in real life lol. It's always funny watching guys with like 5,000 flight hours try to hop in and fly the sim around and they are hovering all over the place and crashing and come out cussing up a storm lol.

But if DCS Huey gives you that feeling like its trying to secretly kill you then it's doing its job well as a sim. Thats pretty accurate. Sounds like DCS has done another great job again.

I'll try to get my stuff out of storage and try out some of the new sims. I've never flown in a Huey so I wouldn't really be able to know how the flight model compares but yeah bare bones helo's are much different than combat helos with all of the flight control assistance and stability control and whatnot.

One of the hardest things about learning how to fly the 64 was learning how to STOP flying. We start off flying Bell 206's (TH-67) which is a bare bones helicopter with none of the fancy computer stability control and all that. Getting into the 64 we all still wanted to fly so we kept moving all the controls and trying to fly like we were used to with the Bell's.

The words of my instructor still ring in my ears to this day. "We pay millions of dollars for all these computer stability controls to help us fly. The helicopter itself can fly better than you can now stop touching ****!" lol

LOL that bit at the end is great!

Thanks for taking the time to share your insight with us simmers, nightmare. :)

  8. I've been doing RC planes on and off for the past decade or so. My most recent ship is a scratch-built FPV plane, or 'camera drone' for the non-RC initiated. I've been meaning to upload a video showcasing it onto Youtube..Need to get around to that..

  9. The Su-25T has a transparent display, and it does present data in the form of the target indicator location for the laser guided missiles and also gun pods.

No numerical data is presented however.

But a visual representation of distance to target and its location is presented.

I do believe you mean the Su-25A.

  10. After three or four years of use, my Pro Flight pedals' right brake seems to have become damaged.

Physically, the toe brake in question feels fine. The problem is that it only causes actual registrable input on my computer when I apply left rudder, and even then the amount of registered input(In other words, how far it sees the toe brake being pushed down)fidgets. However, the magnitude of the fidgeting seems to lessen the more left rudder I apply.

Does anyone know what exactly is broken? Could I fix it myself?
