  1. That's the error I get with catalyst AI on in 9.3. How did you come up with the -no-sandbox option out of curiosity? Thanks, -Matt
  2. I've heard elsewhere on these forums that editing with notepad can cause issues. The recommendation is to use something like Notepad++. Thanks, -Matt
  3. Ok, slap me for reviving an old thread, but I just had to say I burst out laughing when I read this (while searching for my autopilot issue). -Matt
  4. You're right! Actually on the left overhead panel on the bottom right. I missed it while searching the PDF because it was referred to slightly differently. Thanks!
  5. No - I'm not 100% sure I did these procedures correctly. I did follow them step by step in the manual but there seems to be a slight translation issue on the crank procedure which is confusing me. On page 5-13 is says: "The main engine crank procedure is analogous to the false start procedure but with the only difference being that the fuel cut-off valve is closed. Its purpose is to vent fuel from the combustion chamber." It says the fuel cut-off valve is closed, then just below this (in the numbered steps) it says: "Open the fuel shut-off valve of the cranked engine..." I think the intent is to have the engine cutoff valve closed and the fuel cutoff valve open - correct or should this be the other way around? Thanks, -Matt
  6. No - it specifically says the green gearbox oil press norm light. This is on page 5-11 of the PDF manual. Thanks for the tip on the slightly earlier start (at 18%), that does seem to be a better overall strategy than accidentally waiting too long - but I still can't get the thing going sometimes after I shut it down. Thanks, -Matt
  7. I'm new to this and I've spent all day working through the startup procedures (having fun). I've have question about this: In the manual in the Main Engine Start-Up section, it states: "Upon reaching normal oil pressure in the engine gearbox, the green “Р масла ПРИВОДОВ” (gearbox oil press norm) light will illuminate." For the life of me, I cannot find any such "light" or any further references to it - am I just missing something? Also, as I'm practicing starting up and shutting down, sometime I get myself into a state where I can't seem to start the engines. After I press start, the RPMs will increase to just over 20%, but when I open the cut-off valve it doesn't ramp up. This only seems to happen after I've started and stopped the engines a couple of times and I'm thinking it means there is something additional I need to do. I've tried the False Start and Crack procedures, but they don't seem to help. Any thoughts on this? Thanks, -Matt
  8. Great, this is what I was looking for as well. I imagine it's likely that many newcomers might want the same thing. Devs - it might make sense to include a "free flight" mission in a future patch/update (save some people some searching). Just a suggestion. Thanks, -Matt
  9. EtherealN - thanks. I see that I was simply mistaken about the number of initial activations. That clears it up. It seems that prior to release several different (unofficial) websites were reporting that "the download version with have 10 activations". That must have just been a rumor or changed when the product went live. As you point out, it's very clear in the official FAQ. No big deal at all, I'm enjoying the sim so far! Thanks, -Matt
  10. Greetings, I just bought the downloadable version of the game last night. I ran into a hitch which I wanted to bring up and ask a question about. I installed the game on my "gaming" computer which was not connected to the Internet. I typically leave this computer disconnected. Upon launch, I was prompted to activate the product as expected. At this point, I saw the option for activation without internet access so I clicked "other". I read the message and it wasn't clear to me if I'd receive the activation code immediately or if it might take a day or two - so instead of clicking "next" I clicked "back". This took me back to the initial activation screen. Now I went googling on my laptop to see how long the "offline activation" process would take. While reading I became curious if there was also a "phone activation" option, so I again clicked "other" on the activation screen. I saw that there was no phone option, so I once again clicked "back". After a little more reading I decided I would just go ahead and connect the gaming computer to the Internet and proceed with the Internet activation. I did this, and it activated properly, but the message it came back with indicated that I now have only 7 activations left. It appears that the act of simply clicking on the "other" link in the activation window uses up an activation (even if you then click back and don't proceed with the activation). Could someone please confirm this. Also is there someone I can get incontact with to restore these two lost activations? I know I'll probably never use them - but I'd rather get this taken care of now just in case. I can of course send my serial number and/or email receipt to the appropriate party. Thanks, -Matt
