  1. Thanks a lot, will try that.
  2. Right. I always forget about that, what is the optimal bank angle and distance from the area to do this?
  3. Thanks, Its a good idea when you just starting and want to learn the buttons and switches, but at this point for me its about improving the speed at which I operate, so I got to practice on moving targets.
  4. Couldn't agree more. the A-10c was a pleasure to learn. Once I rememberd the hotas system, attacking targets while changing to different weapons was very easy and smooth. I was extremly surprised that the f-18 was a step backwards. I really thought that it will be improvment over the A-10c. Now, if a F-16c will turn out like the f-18 that will be a dissapointment. I am still in shock that the F-16c doesn't have MWS for heat seeking missiles, those Manpads are butchering me :)
  5. Yes, I figured it out from your earlier advice. What I meant by frustrating is that if I miss by a millimeter with the point tracking, I can't just correct it, I need to recycle to stabilize mode, chase the target with the tgp, put it in front of the target then cycle again. I need to practice this, so far by the time I manage to finaly lock the target I usually already passing over the area and need to reposition myself.
  6. Thanks for the advice. This stabilized targeting mode is annoying. I tried to use mavricks on moving targets and it was quite frustrating. I find it interesting that the module everybody say is the most complicated one, the A-10C , feels like EZmode when it comes to weapons deployment relative to the f-18.
  7. Hi, I recently started learning the TGP, I have an issue where the TGP just get stuck at some point in the mission and I can no longer slew it. once it gets stuck, designating a target to waypoint also doesn't do anything. I don't know if its something I do wrong or if its a bug of some sort. Any help will be appreciated.
  8. So, after the last update to the stable version (DCS 2.5.6.52437) I lost the console and instrument panel backlight brightness, its fine for night operation, but I like to use the backlight during day operation too, is this going to get fixed or this is now permanent? I am on steam, so can't rollback...
  9. Thanks for the suggestion, however with all the help I got in this thread I already figured out what is going on. Appreciate the help.
  10. Well, i have started to learn about the Radar, funny thing, the first thing it teaches you is how to find a Helicopter in Pulse search :) So I guess mystery solved, its Jester that is the problem. I really like this Jester mechanic, too bad it isn't as good as I wished he would be.
  11. Thanks, I indeed let jester do all the work, still havent learned how to operate the radar myself, I will learn it now and see if that resolve the issue for me.
  12. You are right, only need SW Cool. Got confused with the fact that the cooling also has 1 minute timer to get full effect. Thanks.
  13. I keep it close, though when the Phoenix hit the chopper it could have been open, or It could have been that changed the missile mode under the prep button, I did try to press anything I could in order to get the thing to launch :). on more positive note, because of that experience I learned that I can just launch it in maddog in order to take down those pesky helos
  14. Thanks, It was indeed the prep timer. one question though, I now realize that when the phoenix hit the Mi-24 Helicopter, it was basically guiding itself to the target, which brings the question, why my radar doesn't pick up on the Helicopter but the phoenix self guidance does?
  15. Thanks for the reply, Yes I turnd on missile prep, but I always switch it on for the aim 9, didn't realize the phoenix also has prep timer. will, check it out now.
