Have you ever tried to set the G2 to 60Hz when playing with Steamvr?
No wonder you have a higher performance now.
I'm not sure if setting your G2 to 60Hz is the solution to your problem.

Yep.  Even running a 3090,5900x, 32gb ram, nvme, and VR shaders, I have to run my G2 on 60 hz to get smooth frames.  Have to do it for both Steam VR and OpenXR.   I do not use reprojection as I don’t like the ghosting on edges.  But I had 60fps on the carrier deck last night with about a dozen planes.   Never got close to that with Steam.

Not sure how folks are getting smooth frames on 90hz.   It just doesn’t work for me.  And that’s across multiple pc’s.   IRacing runs butter smooth for me at 90hz on high settings.  So, not sure why.   But running the g2 at 60 hz in DCS makes for almost flawlessly smooth frames.

  2. Man, I must be missing something.   Got this to work, but the performance sucks.   I had much smoother performance using Steam VR with Kegetys VR shaders, 100% resolution and no reprojection.  This is a stuttery mess.  And I’m running a stout pc (3090, 5900x, etc).  What am i missing.  Unless there is something obvious, I’m going back to Steam VR.

Edit:    Never mind.  Switched the G2 to 60hz, now it’s all good.   Now I see what all the hype is about.   Colors are definitely better. As is frame smoothness.  Was able to turn a few things up.   Definitely more performant than Steam VR.

  3. For some reason this isn’t working for me any longer.   On latest beta 2.7.1.7139.   Using OVGME to manage. This worked great on 2.5, and seemed to be there on earlier 2.7 versions.   But did a recent repair and reinstalled the latest version (replaced the Bazaar folder in my roots mods directory).   Cleared fxo and metashaders.   And nothing.   Still have hazy horizon.  Also using with Kegetys VR shaders (clear water version).  That VR shader applies fine via OVGME.   What might I be missing?

  4. Hi all. I have what I'm hoping is a simple problem. I have been using SimShaker since May and its been working perfectly. All of the individual sounds have had what I considered "normal" volume levels within the usual "strength" settings. A couple of weeks ago, my SSD was corrupted and I had to reinstall Windows, and then also re-install Simshaker and the sound module. I'm now on the latest stable release of DCS, and am on sound module 2.12.

Here's my problem. Now I have some sounds that are VERY pronounced, even on low percentages ( touchdown, for example, is VERY strong). But other sounds are very very weak (ground roll is almost unperceptable, even on 100%).

My sound card configuration, and my amp settings are all the same as before. I'm running a single Clark Synthesis transducer. Any idea's why the relative volume's for each sound are so far apart now? Any suggestions how to get them relatively similar as they were before?

Admittedly, I could turn the strong sounds way down, and the weak sounds way up, and then turn up the gain on my amp, but that seems like it would be masking the underlying problem. I appreciate any thoughts. Thanks.
