It’s working very well for me. Thanks ED - Having a great time exploring the Supercarrier and huge beta update.

Honestly, nobody has an issue with the fact that there is a delay.
The issue is, that it's communicated in the worst possible way there is.
The information is simply "somewhere around here, I guess".
And not: "This is the current state: Information!"
We get an "update" on the free flight promo event every week.
We DON'T get any information about the Super Carrier.
Is it delayed? Yes. How long? Nobody knows. End of May? Maybe. It was mentioned "somewhere".
How is it coming along? Good progression? Bad progression? Is it FUBAR, because something went terribly wrong?
Yes, the current Situation is bad. For everyone of us. We feel the impact in our daily lives.
That is not the problem, if you communicate well and on time and somewhere where we can find it easily.
Almost every DCS Session there is someone that asks "Wasn't there supposed to be a Supercarrier around? What happened?"
If they would just do a new YT Video, or a clear Forum Post AND regular updates in the Newsletter, nobody would be angry.
But it went from: "It's almost done!" to basically: "It vanished. Don't ask, won't tell. Shush. Go away!"
And that is the thing I've got a huge problem with.
Yep and now they have everyone's pre-order money so where's the incentive to deliver? They got paid already.

unpopular opinion... be honest, suspend work on other stuff, focus on hornet...and think about if a realistic price for a released module is/would have been the right way.
To be honest. It is remarkable an honorable to let the pants down now, but please draw your conclusions out of it for the future.
Best regards
Leo
Yes!!! It’s clear to me that ED has too many active projects and not enough in the backlog. 25 half finished projects is ZERO finished projects!

I use the MPCD for the S/A page most of the time. My left and right DDIs typically show a TAC page on the right and a SUP page on the left.
-
I don't care about multiplayer. Never tried it. I'll take single player!
-
Seems like too many active projects and not enough in the back log. Perhaps fewer active projects would result in more deliverables...? (and cash!)

2.5.6 is flyable on my rig with low settings and 2.0 PD. I still get random frame drops. Windows perf-mon shows PLENTY of room so it's not my hardware. When I get frame drops my gpu plummets, not spikes like you'd expect. ...almost like the decoder stream dies or something.

It used to work much better. If you were > 10mi out, > 5,000ft, with the hook down, you could consistently trigger the new comms. I even got to call the ball and hear the LSO a few times.
It hasn't really worked for me at all in the last few months. Seems to be more broken.

I love Dire Straits personally. It’s at night but there’s a full moon, so you don’t need NVGs. It’s a two ship pre-planned JDAM strike on Bandar Abbas. Lots of room for improvisation and adaptation.
Edit: Use the ME to set your wingman to unlimited fuel, unless you want to tank up.

Release candidate testing sprints in most software companies are 2 weeks. So even if it was early access feature complete, it’s at least 2 weeks out. Assuming they don’t find bugs and need another dev sprint.

I mean broadly:
- HARM - good at suppressing radar SAMs, especially longer range ones (SA-2, SA-3, SA-6, SA-10, SA-11, SA-17, Hawk).
- Maverick - good for making stand off attacks, where you don't want to get close but you can outrange the AAA or SAM (SA-8, SA-9, SA-13, SA-15, SA-19, Roland, Rapier). Good for killing longer range SAMs in pop-up attacks if you can terrain mask. Good for killing tanks and some ships.
- Mk20/CBU-99 - good for killing infantry and soft vehicles: trucks, APCs, IFVs, SAM launchers, etc. Good for killing AAA, or killing some SAMs where you can terrain mask. Only good if you don't mind getting fairly low.
- Mk82 - good for killing soft vehicles, small buildings. Requires you to be reasonably low.
- Mk82 SnakeEye - good for lay-down attacks: dropping at low-level, and in level flight. Good for killing SAMs where you know the vehicle location very precisely and can terrain mask in.
- Mk83 - good for killing larger buildings, or better armored vehicles if nothing better available.
- Mk84 - good for killing hardened structures.
- Rockets - good for killing infantry and soft vehicles, I particularly like them for attacks on very hilly terrain where clusters struggle.
- LGBs - when we have TGP: good for killing SAMs or AAA that you can overfly if high enough (SA-8, SA-9, SA-13, SA-15, SA-19, Roland, Rapier). Good for killing tanks or ships. Good for killing precise buildings or bunkers. Good when fratricide is a risk, especially when you have JTAC. Good for loft attacks if you've got someone else to lase for you.
- JDAMs - when we get them: good for killing stationary vehicles or stationary SAMs that you can overfly. Good for killings buildings or structures, good for loft attacks.
- Glide bombs - good for killing targets you want to stand-off from.
After some searching I ran into this post. Very helpful when trying to create realistic ME scenarios.
- HARM - good at suppressing radar SAMs, especially longer range ones (SA-2, SA-3, SA-6, SA-10, SA-11, SA-17, Hawk).

Wow, pretty skimpy! Looks good for some Huey missions, though. Awesome website, thanks!

I've been wanting to set up a 'modern' mission in Georgia, so I took to Google Maps satellite view for a reference on how to organize the aircraft... ...except I can't see ANY military airports that are still operational in Georgia. They're all rotten,, ripped up or closed down. Does anyone have any info on the modern Georgian air force? What aircraft they have and where they fly out of?

Some new pics up!!!
Excellent pics! You can see the launch crew out there!
-
I've been experimenting with this as well. Seems I have more luck when > 10mi out, hook down and actually be inbound - as in headed towards the carrier. Even still - it's hit or miss. Super fun when it works!!
-
Learning to use the Thrustmaster t.a.r.g.e.t. software to configure your Hog for other aircraft. Learning curve but well worth it!
-
I'm not buying any new modules until they finish things I've already purchased - namely F18. I recommend everyone do the same! The trend at ED towards the 'money grab' is getting worse and worse. 20 half finished projects is ZERO FINISHED PROJECTS!
-
I voted No. You can use the ME to create scenarios to "jump into".
I will not be purchasing any more new modules until Eagle Dynamics completes some of the modules I've already purchased - mainly the F18. Not finishing already delivered and paid for products in lieu of releasing more unfinished content is a good way to ruin the business.
-
Great news and a great book. It's inspired many ME sessions.
-
Is there any way to toggle between the two map type types manually, in the ME? I'd' like to zoom in on the "macro" map and check out the finer detail... but it just shifts to the "zoomed-in" version of the map.
I searched around the forums using different keywords but didn't see an answer - seems like something folks would want to do!

Can't remember if the Hornet requires a first stage trigger. Could be that too. I used the gun yesterday (have a TM Warthog) and noticed I had to go through the first stage trigger before the gun would squirt lead.

I just successfully completed my first re-fuel!!!!!!!
Wow, I'm a mess
All the suggestions were totally true.
For pre-contact use the trimmer and TINY stick movements to lock in your formation. After pre-contact, focus on the pod - never the basket. Keep the throttle moving. After contact continue a few yards and then use the fuselage as a reference. Only with practice comes the muscle memory (for the stick movements) and ability to correctly judge your delta velocity.
You can do it!!!

I believe I read somewhere that if you're not >= MIL power, the hand salute won't work. Check your throttle axis mapping - you might find you're a smidge under MIL at the detent.
I Gotta Re-Learn Everything!!

My success rate is way down. Crashing into the fantail again. Feel like I should go back to Nellis and practice basic landings.
