Are you going to do the same for those that bought DCS Huey only a few weeks back? I only ask as I mentioned a similar post and well, interesting replies to say the least. However I can take the $49.00 hit if that is what it comes down to, after all it has only been about two weeks since I bought it.

Thanks for your help, it seems I have five aircraft in that directory, A10C FW-190D9 Ka-50 Su-25T Uh-1H I don't know what happened but I think I have messed up somewhere, as the menu on DCS World matches none of the aircraft. I do now understand that DCS Blackshark has nothing to do with DCS World as I found it in another separate directory. I will uninstall 'all' and start again. Thank you for your help.

Something amiss then? Well DCS BlackShark2 is showing up as a little icon (clear, no dollar sign) and it loads when I change wallpaper and run it, but I never bought it, what is going on? You tell me how I can uninstall a program that isn't even installed? you cannot. I understand what you are saying but clearly something has got mixed up. I guess I will just uninstall the lot and start again.:cry:

more info please? Is it the problem I am currently having, asking for a key for dcs blackshark 2 when I only own dcs blackshark?

When I start DCS World (I own three of the Sims, BlackShark, A10C and Huey) yet every time DCS World starts it keeps asking for the DCS BlackShark 2 key. I have to click three times to get passed this. I really am stuck as I have do not own DCS BlackShark 2 and have no idea why it keeps asking for a key for a game I don't own. Do I have to uninstall all, I am also worried as I only have 2 more activations on my original BlackShark.:cry: Thank you.

umm... So how long as Huey been 'beta' and if so how long is long enough? Still doesn't make it right, not one bit. But feel free to defend products not even completed and now being sold as 'dlc' and quotes like "even though it's beta it's still a great sim". I bet if you bought a computer with the video card missing or not 'complete' yet you might have a problem, 'might I said' as allot of people think this is okay, not I.:mad:

I know I complain allot however, I went on steam today and Huey is $9.00 Oz, really? FFS! I only just bought this over a week ago (maybe two) however this really sucks for those of us who paid full price of $49.99 and only recently.:cry: I mean don't get me wrong, great pick up for under $10.00, however I just can't help think "this is all your going to get beta or not" prove me wrong? Oh and before I forget Steam is selling them as "DLC" for DCS World, umm, is this where we are headed, free base program and having to buy the A/C to use it? Also, lucky day for the buyer, A10C going for the cheap price of under $10.00 as well, wasn't that at least recently new as well? paid $60.00 bucks for it as well if I recall.:mad: I have been ranting and raving of another sim I bought just a few days ago which does just this, having to buy A/C that really should be in the game, but the replies where, "hey buddy, get over it, this is how things are now" or something like that. Tell me, whats so wrong in just buying a 'flight sim, complete, not beta etc etc, is this where flight sims are headed and people really don't care. Please tell me this isn't so?:cry: Lastly it is not about the money, not really, it is about a trend I see developing and it seems to have found it's way into DCS World. I know people will bag me but as 'total biscuit and angry joe' have both said this is not good for gaming and you know they are correct. Just look at the games that have come out with stuff missing yet you can buy only on pre-order or later as DLC and there are a handful of games that really ripped people off. I am worried that this is where we are headed. Are they going to refund people the difference as they only just bought the game (say yesterday) I think not. Greed, greed and more greed and yet we keep allowing this to happen. (sorry got off subject a tad):doh: however you all get the gist of what I am trying to say.

This is what I mean Lets see, the Huey is well known for Vietnam and well they could have based this sim around that war. For example I am sure they could have made missions which could range from hot LZ extration, troop drop offs, fire base support, just getting a better feel for the Huey in that atmosphere. With that certain music could have been incorporated for that time (60's and 70's) which would have added much more feel to the game. Larger campaign than one single UN campaign. I mean we are talking about the Huey are we not? Graphics could have been better, jungle, low lying clouds, mist of the jungle canopy etc etc. I have been in the Huey many times whilst in the ARA and I know what it is like to be in the back skimming over the trees and morning mist and what an amazing feeling it was, it never got old. I just feel they could have made more of an environment for this classic chopper. Text is never great at getting a point across,:( I wasn't bagging the game, just felt it needed more as a few training missions, a few select single missions (three wasn't it?) and one UN campaign. Hardly exciting stuff. As this is a beta version I am still hoping they bring more to the table than this, but wait one, they still have my money don't they? :doh: My view is I bet London to a brick, what you have is what your only going to get (hey call me cynical in my old age).:cry: Surely others can see what I am trying to say, if I just wanted to fly around and do nothing else I would have bought Microsoft flight simulator. Sadly I think that has more environment than Huey. Lastly before you all bag me for just wanting more, think Vietnam and all that atmosphere and battles, imagine having a mission where you have to pick up wounded from the battle field. Imagine flying in, with the jungle canopy just below you, tracers firing at you, red smoke, the noise etc. Surely they could have given us this? Well I hope that answers the question, what do you mean. I bet all of us that love the Huey know what I am trying to say and ultimately after much more with this sim. Cheers all. :thumbup:

Okay thanks Hello, firstly I feel bad for being so angry and having ago at the mod guys, I was really angry with this setup. Yes that is the BlackShark I bought and thank you for the information it has made things much clearer. I still don't understand how to uninstall modules as it seems I may have installed the DCS BlackShark2 and that is why it keeps asking for the serial when DCS World starts. Sorry for my email to the mod who moved me, can you somehow let him know I am not normally like this so I am genuinely sorry. I will do as suggested and uninstall it all and start again, however I am a little worried about the activations as I only have 2 left for DCS BlackShark. Cheers

Why did they have to make it so confusing. I bought DCS Blackshark when it first came out, hence no DCS World. I then bought A10C again before DCS World. I then didn't play either for about 12 months at a guess however recently bought Huey (on the forums recommendation). As you all know you now need to install DCS World and so I did. I installed Huey next and no problems with install and or serial being recognised in DCS World. Then I installed DCS Blackshark and A10C however they install into their own folder (not DCS World). Added serials for both when asked and accepted but not in DCS World, shows no key. WTF!?:mad: I then on the advice from the forum installed the modules for DCS and A10C hoping this would fix it. It did not, it now says I have DCS2 installed and keeps asking for serial on DCS World start up and yet I didn't installed DCS 2, it is not even showing up in the game. So I thought go into control panel and see if I have installed the wrong module by mistake. You guessed it, not there either.:mad: So after hours of downloading modules for games I already own on disk and more hours trying to get DCS World to recognise both games I am back to square one but now have the added headache of DCS World asking for DCS Blackshark2 serial on start up, FFS, really!!!?:mad::mad::mad: and yet still doesn't pick up previous bought games that are currently installed on my pc. Sorry for long winded post however I did a search and this is not a new problem and no one really can give a answer to this frustrating aspect of linking DCS Games into DCS World. At least Huey recognises the serial and plays. In ending, how do I fix the DCS Blackshark 2 problem, it says I can deactivate the serial but I have a feeling it will deactivate DCS Blackshark number one and you only have so many activations (like that sucks as well but wont go there eh?):mad: I am considering uninstalling the lot and as I said in a previous post (buyer beware). Huey for the record (apart from the sounds) is limited and as it is from another company I suspect what we have is all your going to get.:mad: I don't normally get this angry but it really shouldn't be this tough. I suspect if I bought all the games listed at the bottom of DCS World (even the one's I currently own) this would not be an issue, just a gut feeling. Go figure.:huh:
