  1. Potentially yes, for people with NVIDIA cards 10XX and newer.

In theory it doesn't depends on the API used by the game.

In another flight sim some people have reported better framerate and more stable.

Edit: I have tryed, and I have a similar framerate, but with HAGS enabled I have some weird stuttering

Can you check Hags performance after deleting fxo and metashaders. Not that it matters, but still hoping for different results.

  2. You mean switching to Aim-9? Will try. But if I want to use AIM-7 or 120? I just unlock and seek again.

@Harker No, the target does not spin around me as I do barrel rolls, staying at constant angle. Just the diamond no longer tracks it, giving false direction. The radar and SA pages still do, and it is possible to understand where he is (but takes more time).

Yes switch to sidewinder than select your mode which you want to use.

  3. Well, there are plenty of "Mavericks" all around, so..., we don't necessarily have to be the same person. No, I didn't hear of DEKA until they came to DCS and made the JF-17, so that's another "mav" that was useful to them, not me. Speaking of "maverick", that's how they call the people who test stuff that others don't. They're like putting their skin into the battle for others to learn. And like you said I also confirm by how the plane behaves in mid-air under all the tested circumstances that DEKA IRONWORKS have done a great job in DCS. From my opinion, the best we had seen so far, period!
It was a joke tbh, though yeah Deka did great job, but I won't belive anyone saying it's accurate as in real life, unless the person is PAF pilot or someone who tested Jeff in real life. I highly doubt anyone outside Pakistan or China has flown it (or Countries where is is exported like Maynmar). I maybe wrong.

  4. Wow! I wouldn’t expect it to cancel and INS alignment! My limited experiences with wake turbulence:

I was in a Cessna 182 waiting for an intersection departure just short of a runway when 2-F16s took off together. Both Vipers were in afterburner and when they went by the entire airframe of the 182 was vibrating. Not loud with the headsets on but you could feel the energy. They hadn’t rotated yet so no big vortices.

Also stood on foot at the edge of a runway, maybe 5 feet outside the edge lights when an MD-80 just began its flare to land. As it passed by about 30 feet above me, I could very clearly hear the vortices pass just overhead. Sounded likes whips swirling through the air. Did not feel anything, but you could hear them trailing the jet.

I’ve also flown on a departure and our flight path went through Boeing 757 wake @ about 11,000 feet (when it shouldn’t be anywhere near as bad as when landing). I was flying a 50,000# jet and it rolled us to a nearly instantaneous 70 degree bank angle.

Landing above and behind a 747, I think I’ve seen the wake of a 747 hit the water, but I have a powerful imagination so who knows?

If an F-16 can cause your INS to not align I hope your not operating from the same fields as C5-Ms :pilotfly:

Not me, but a friend was flying in a plane shooting photo or video of another smaller aircraft which flew into the larger lead’s wake. It rolled the smaller plane completely over and the subsequent loss of control ended up causing the two aircraft to have a midair collision. Fatal for the smaller plane. The bigger was able to land.

    Hello Friend,

I am not a real life pilot or anything. But from my understanding Wale turbulence shouldn't cause violent vibration in F-16 or any other fighter to cancel the ins because the plane moved an inch from it's spot(mind you it is on the ground). I have posted track file to BN in discord. I'll upload a video to show the problem, since I can't upload track file of 5mb or above.

If you have F-16, you can go to Night life mission(not quick mission). You'll start cold and some F-15s and F-16s will take off. The runway is kutaisi airfield. From runway to me is a fair distance. Just when the F-15s rotate, you'll here growl and vibration. If you are doing an INS align, it'll stop because system thinks you have moved.

  5. Yes, its the way that is supposed to be. But a big disclaimer, I wouldn't bet any money that this ED simulating diferences between updates rates (STT > TWS 80 deg > TWS 20 2 bar), but instead it could be just a bug caused by recent changes.

Last week TWS was not even updating the amraam and in the intent to fix it maybe there are still things wrong in the code. We will see.

Yes that's what I'm getting into. I haven't seen people mentioning it, or ED acknowledging it. It's quite unclear if it is intended behaviour. We just solve it by bringing real life scenarios and making the subject complicated to follow.

  6. If the distant texture popup effect on the tpod DDI screen could at least be reduced by maybe blurring it or something..

Still.. I find it strange that my eye sight visual range exceeds the tpod maximum range by such a large margin (see screenshot in my OP)

It maybe due to Performance Issue. Though Hornet's Tpod is very low quality compared to A10C. I'll check with A-10 later.

  7. Science is the reason.

You have to use very high update rates if you expect TWS to keep up with a bandit maneuvering on the edge because he's defending against a missile.

Something feels wrong and I don't knw what. Effectiveness of long range multi target engagement is lowered compared to earlier versions. AI teammates can't cope up with changes, will miss more shots than hit. But I can't pinpoint what is wrong with 120 and aim 7s currently, since I m no expert regarding radar or missile.

It's really hits hard when you do hour long campaign to get to engagement than to see 120c are too OP and you can guide 4 missiles at 4 targets, but in next build there effectiveness is lowered and it can't be done.

I knw it matters in MP but SP campaigns break so easily beacuse of this changes. Played kaba cage the bear hornet mission.

I haven't touched TWS yet in the campaign.

  8. With all steam Merits, One of the biggest is Regional Pricing. Not everybody has ability to donate. I'm a college student and live with pocket money. Hopefully when I get a job, I'll buy my dlcs from ED store. But ED is giving choice to buy from steam with all it's advantages, I see no reason to not buy from steam. If they were struggling, they would have pulled the plug on steam.

It's not like majority of playerbase are dollar earners. Btw it's better to have both standalone and steam than one. This is the flexibility of steam.

  9. I like how it turns instantly. We got Behind enemy lines situation here. Btw only way to get more pk, Just keep locking target in STT until target hit. For some reason TWS lock is unreliable. Don't even think about guiding two in two targets. For some reason if missile doesn't get constant update, it flies away to space.

    Though it reduces SPAMRAAMing.

  10. Honestly, if a NATO navy wanted to sink the Kunz they'd use submarines.

In real life it's not going to be a concern for the foreseeable future (Last I heard its in really bad shape and might never cruise again.) But the Chinese have one of the Kunz's sister ships fully operational, and a second indigenously designed carrier that was strongly based on the Kunz's and two more of the latter being built.

Deception is the only weapon effective in warfare. Only carrying out submarine attack is not an option, it'll prove ineffective if they use counter defensive tactic against submarines, it'll eventually expose the submarines. I maybe wrong but Battle of Attrition is the only option against a CSG.

  11. Man I love people trying to take out CSG solo. It's not even possible in dreams if they are in alert state. Also don't forget Fleet defense fighters. No way a country would let a Carrier lose.

If DCS really simulated all the system of Ships that are missing currently, you wouldn't even try it with only Air attacks. You need your own CSG helping you. It will become Battle of Attrition. Still a carrier wouldn't go down before you, since you are in the air (it's kinda suicide mission).

  12. Cant remember the mission but there's one f16 mission starting at dawn where you cold start in the parking area pointed at the runway and as a group of f15's begin takeoff they will blow your plane completely over and destroy it before you can even finish startup.
I'll upload track when I jump into DCS again today. It is F-16 Night life mission in Caucusus (it's not quick mission), where you have to bomb oil tanks. It is not violent like blowing up, but is surely vibrates my plane to interrupt INS alignment.

I'm sure it's not F-16 only, I'll try placing other airframes to see if tge issue persist.

  13. Another problem with Wake turbulence is when you start Night life mission of F-16. With all the aircraft taking off, Wake turbulence vibrates my plane even in ground when I'm cold starting. It cancels the INS alignment, so I have to restart alignment.

On that note Wake turbulence effects Aircraft on ground also. Is it realistic, I don't know.

  14. Thanks for the solution frostie, I'll try that today. Btw Is Su-25t shkval different from ka-50? In Ka-50 I can point track anything with small target size.

  15. 1) First and foremost Steam has Regional pricing, You don't have to pay currency equivalent of dollars.

    2) Steam has more payment option. You can pay with domestic cards, Internet banking, even cash on delivery. Just insert all payment methods your closeby dominoes accepts, it is there.

    3) Download speed is more in steam. I have two installation (steam/standalone). I always have to download update in steam first, then let Standalone updater copy those files from steam to update it faster.

    4) You can transfer steam product to standalone without a hitch, you can't vice versa.

    5) Changing build version from stable to Open beta or vice versa is more of a 2-3 clicks.

    6) There are many more which I can't think of.

So don't go listening to one sided stories. If you live in USA or any other developed country, go for standalone. But there is also another option available available which has many advantages.

Yeah you are supporting Devs also when buying from steam. If devs were struggling, they would have removed the game from steam. You are just paying small fee to a distributor (steam) which brings this advantages. Think about all the third world country gamers who couldn't even able to play games, since the game cost more than their monthly income(not talking about dcs itself, other games also). Steam has bring the platform for them.
