  1. I've been looking into the SA-2's behavior, and it has a deficiency. As far as I can tell, the SA-2 currently uses 3 point guidance. The missile tries to stay on the line of sight between radar and target. The launchers are now set up to lead their target, rather than launching directly at them. This is a good thing! However, the lead seems to be set up assuming the missile follows proportional guidance. Against a beaming target the missile will first need cancel out the lead. This often leads to missing targets at 8 miles or closer, even against nonmaneuvering targets. The launcher lead would ideally aim to shoot at where the target will be in 4 seconds, since that's when the ballistic launch ends. The missile could then start guidance without as drastic post-launch corrections.
  2. This can already be done by using a separate trigger, with the Time Since Flag condition. Trigger 1: does any instant effects, plus sets a flag value (FLAG ON or FLAG SET VALUE) Trigger 2: Condition: Time Since Flag (Flag, time) -> Effect
  3. Not sure if you know that you posted to our forum group. If you want to join DCAF as an F-16 pilot you can do so, membership isn't handled here but instead through our discord https://discord.gg/jtXmJRKx If that's not what you had in mind then this is probably not the right place to ask questions you won't get many answers, anyway.
  4. I'm relatively new to DCS, want to get into it as it promises a more detailed simulation than arma 3. I've played through (most of) the F/A-18 tutorials, but they sadly prove lacking on guided weapons. My skills generally require significant development. I'm hoping to find a group that accepts novice pilots, and that I can play with regularly. I play on European time, US time zones can't work unfortunately.
