  1. here's what I did step by step: - install lock on (in default folder) first, don't lanch autorun automatically. open the folder (cd), right click on autorun.exe, select Compatibility tab, once there, select win xp SP3 compatibility mode and check the box to run that file as administrator. only after that launch the application by double-clicking on it. when it's over: - install flaming cliffs same thing as lock on install: you refuse the autrun automatic start, go on the CD and select compatibility mode (XP SP3) and run as admin once it's finished - install patch 1.12b same again, compatibility mode and run as admin. For some reason it wants to install to "Eagle Dynam" folder instead of the game one. just let it go and then copy the contents c:\program files\eagle dynam folder to the good one (eagle dynamics\Lock On\ ) - reboot when required when you launch the game first time. - ignore the message about driver no compatible if you get one (I didn't even get that) - update starforce with the update utility from their site maybe it work for you that way too
  2. my UAC is switched of from the beginning windows defender same... I gave it another try, and this time it went on flawlessly too.... no idea what happened. only glitch, my external hard drive wouldn't be recognised anymore... had to go out, and when I came back, it worked again. basically, I tried to use it on win7 since last february, on numerous occasions, with compatibility modes, everything.. it never did... and today, it just went through withtout a glitch (not even a windows refusal for incompatible driver.. nothing. don't ask me what happened.. I don't have the faintest idea.. and I've been working on computers for about 13 years now... go figure... ;)
  3. you got lucky... my game refuses to do anything without SF loaded...
  4. did it too, but here, when I launch the game, starforce tells me that it has to restart windows to load the driver, and as on startup the driver isn't loaded (win7 doesn't want it), I'm back to the starting point. I guess I'll have to wait 'till the update by ED
  5. anything, if it gets rid of starforce... anyway, if they're pulling out of this sim, they could do that for the players that did supprt them in the first place if they plan on keeping updating it, again, they should do so, since those who order cds can't use latest stuff for the moment if they gave W7...
  6. well, yes, it would mean adding it to the patch.. personally, considering the age of the game, I wouldn't think the piracy might be an issue about now.. those interested in it either have it, or can buy it for almost nothing (I saw lock on in a shop, new, for 9.90€ a couple of years ago already)
  7. if it works with the download version, maybe ED may give access to a download version for users having the CD version, so they can install that one instead? OF course, one should prove he has the CD version, but it may help users who paid for it and can't use it anymore
  8. it's the cd version, with the 64bit version of windows 7
  9. Hi, I tried, but I can't make it work here... seven (RC) blocks it saying it's not compatbile... did you do something special? can't even patch with 1.12.. it says that the original game isn't installed (probablye because starforce driver can't load)
