I have just finished the design for a PCB for the KDU to the best of my ability. I am no engineer and this was certainly a challenge. More so than any other of the ones I made. I intend to power the LEDs using a MOSFET https://es.aliexpress.com/item/1005005975338275.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.1d367a9d6caj4G&mp=1&gatewayAdapt=glo2esp For an LCD screen I intend to use a 24x2 LCD module connected to Arduino Mega with an IC2 board https://es.aliexpress.com/item/1005004983937517.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.37.39467a7cwd9Mui&algo_pvid=dd58b4c3-ca27-4a08-aca8-6d5e8d662119&algo_exp_id=dd58b4c3-ca27-4a08-aca8-6d5e8d662119-18&pdp_npi=4%40dis!MXN!78.26!78.26!!!4.00!4.00!%402101ef5e17265169888817535e2ddd!12000031237924699!sea!MX!2379025802!X&curPageLogUid=RaBTUte87Ro0&utparam-url=scene%3Asearch|query_from%3A https://es.aliexpress.com/item/1005005975338275.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.1d367a9d6caj4G&mp=1&gatewayAdapt=glo2esp If any of you wizkids out there would like to take a bit of time to take a look at the wiring diagram and point out if I'm doing anything wrong your help and advise will be much appreciated. I'm posting a zip file with the fusion files. I won't post GERBER files for printing the PCB until I have verified it works. Anyone who uses this without knowing what they are doing do so at their own risk. Still need to figure out the coding for the LCD screen but in the meantime I'll work on the program for the switches and LEDs. Today my trial version of Fusion expires. When I picked it up I had no idea how to use it. I'm amazed at how far I got in just 30 days. There has been a lot of work done with just watching a few tutorial videos. It is a testament to Autodesk how easy this software is to use and of course a very big shoutout to A Hornets Nest. Without his videos and advise I would have never been able to get this far. Hope you guys find the stuff I've done so far useful. The next weeks as I start building stuff will be interesting. We'll see if my work, especially in the PCBs, bears good fruit. That has been the most challenging bit. PCB.zip Dusting up the old resin printer

Yeah I've been thinking about options for that. maybe just some thin sheet metal

KDU Case has been modified. I have a TechCreations KDU so I modeled it going of what I had in front of me loosing sight that the that one is not 1:1 to the real one. Modified it to bring it closer to the actual unit.

Almost at the finish line. Things are starting to come together. Few modifications yet to be done to PCBs to include mounted LEDs for backlighting. PCB for the KDU needs to be worked on, and Arduino code for screens of EUFD, CMWS and KDU. I need to learn how to do that so if any of you wizkids out there want to contribute to the project your help would be most welcome.

My good friend PVT.Hetch.B from 7Cav has decided to jump on this bandwagon and made the CMWS. We worked together on. The PCB. Still need to do a couple of modifications to the latter.

A bit more progress today. I made a mount for the KDU and extended the left console a little bit to fit everything together.

Deskpit modified to accomodate a top lid for access to the inside cavity for cable management. Added cable routing holes to the desk and Screen mounts and added aluminum profile to be able to switch between TEDAC and Winwing Topgun MIP mounted on MonsterTech mounts.

I can attest to that. I just got Alain's TEDAC a few weeks ago and its fantastic. he inspired me to do this whole thing. After I got his unit I decided to learn how to do all this stuff. Unfortunately for me Alan announced he just started making v.2 of his TEDAC. I probably got one of the last batches of v.1 lol. Very curious to see what improvements you have made. I just need to get that Deskpit done to mount he thing now.

Please do. Many thanks

Bit more progress. Modified desk to reflect CPG station a little closer and created angle mounts for the MPDsnull

It’s actually quite easy. It feels overwhelming at first but if you are willing to put in a bit of time you can have the tricks you need in a week. The circuits we are designing are stupid simple. We are not building quantum computers here. Most of what I have done so far has been following A Hornets Nest tutorials. There are some aspects that he does not elaborate and you have to figure out on your own, but its just stuff that if you put your melon to work you will figure it out in a couple of hours. I’m still learning though and it is particularly important to pay attention to your mistakes, then redo the work, every new panel gets a bit easier and uncovers more challenges where you realize your should have thought farther ahead. I actually want to learn coding for CNC. I have Sherline Lathe and Mill that I’m in the process to converting into CNC.

Very interested in your solution mate. Do you have a Link where I can find info on that screen? Coding for screens like these is something I yet need to learn. Any info you could share would be much appreciated.

EUFD updated with a case. Files uploaded to Google drive. Had to modify the right side PCB. PCB files to be uploaded tomorrow

This is certainly beyond my experience, but now you peaked my curiosity. I’m gonna give this a try
