The Ka-50 isn't really meant to attack other helos. It has the ability built in, but it doesn't do it very well. You mostly have to hope you can lock the Shkval onto the chopper fast enough. I'm sure others can provide a better tactic than hoping you get it. :P

Sometimes that epic battle needs some music. I like to play some Ace Combat music, specifically Ace Combat Zero. I'm wondering what other people's preference for music is, well, for those who do listen to music flying. :) P.s. Not entirely sure if I should post this in off topic, as its about music, or here, as its about what music one plays when flying. >_>

I was just discussing the Apache module with my friend and we came to the realization. Would it be possible to have two separate players in the same helicopter for both stations? Or would an AI be the gunner the whole time? I'm unsure if this is asked, but its likely to have crossed someone's mind before.

My friend mentioned i should try out Livestream. I'm currently setting it up and I must see how this goes. All indicators say it should work. I'll have to try it in a moment and post/edit on my findings. EDIT: It works great, unless you alt+tab then everything locks up and you need to kill DCS.exe, my friend heard sound and was watching, but I was unaware it cut out after takeoff with no indication, nor could I check what my friend was saying... so I flew on oblivious on the Shooting Range.... at least I hit more targets than ever this time >_< .... I just checked my "On Demand" videos, and my entire flight is recorded... in a few chunks consisting of one minute, and two twenty four minute videos. Odd...

I think that would be the problem, seeing as I'm running Vista. I'll also go and see what .exe Xfire is watching for. EDIT: I found a post in the xfire forums about removing a piece of code in Xfire_ingame.ini that disables usage of BS ingame on vista. Making a backup, saving, and trying it. Here goes nothing... EDIT of EDIT: Nope, still doesn't work. Thanks Xfire. >_>

Hey all, just wondering if DCS is completely compatible with Xfire. It shows that I am playing it to others,but I can't chat ingame, or see what people say to me onscreen *though you should keep your eyes on the heli >_>* Is there a way to get Xfire to record its own videos and to broadcast gameplay, so others can watch me go :joystick: as I go try to learn how to control this heli. I'm not quite sure if this is an issue with Xfire and its update cycle, or if its a patch for DCS to get it to work with xfire.

I checked those links and fiddled with the default nVidia SLI stuff, and saw the link for the EVGA enhancement, I just installed it and I'm about to restart, here's to hoping it works. Well, poo. I downloaded the enhancement, fiddled with it some more while trying the game at different steps, still nothing. And now it shows a game called "merchants of Brooklyn" with the icon for the DCS launcher. I've never played merchants of brooklyn.... <____________< Either a patch or Nvidia figuring it out seems like the solution... I'm going to go torpedo something in Silent Hunter now.

I have rebooted since the uninstall.... It COULD be the SLI, but I'm a bit wary of that, what ramifications does that entail? I use this computer 99% of the time anyone is on it, but it isn't really mine, I've just hijacked it :lol: I'd not want to do something that could be harmful if I do it wrong. Edit: I don't have any extra info on errors and such, I have two other files in my temp folder, "NewInputStart" and "obj_arrays" but those may be irrelevant. My friend suggested to turn off antivirus, and I have, no luck. I tried turning off Xfire, as it works ingame, I thought it may cause something, no luck either.

I have none of the above, which deepens the mystery now. o_o

So I've been following this game since it was announced and then being awesome as he is, a friend of mine got it for me today. The thing is, I can't get it to start up. I've looked at a lot of the recent "HALP CRASH ON STARTUP" threads, but I can't figure out why my game is being wierd. I start up the game from the desktop, music starts playing, and a window appears, but there is no image in the window, just my desktop. I've seen people say it crashes at that moment, but it just sits there, not working. I just updated my Nvidia drivers, uninstalled the only codecs I could find (DIVx) restarted a few times, though I've not restarted since the DIVx uninstall. Shall I post my system specs?
