Hi all, sorry if these are idiot questions. I am in early days with the sim just getting to grips with the flying it and the basic systems - we're talking haven't worked out how to fire the cannon yet!
Firstly, really basic stuff. Using the mouse to rotate the rotary knobs e.g HSI course and heading bugs? Moving the mouse over the knob yields the green rotary icon, but nothing I can do with my mouse will make them move (clicking, dragging, scrolling). I've tried manually mapping the mouse buttons but no avail. I don't want to use the key commands as they seem cumbersome. How do I use my mouse to move these controls - or can't I?
Secondly trimming. I know there are massive threads on this, but as a commercial pilot (albeit fixed wing) I think I do understand the concept of what we're trying to acheive. I am using a FF2 stick, and can generally fly around and hover quite well without it, but everything i read tells me I need to trim. Ok, so I start to try it, but I set a cyclic pitch attitude, hold it, and press and release "T"... and the thing then pitches up or down lots of degrees, knocking my little craft out of its formerly untrimmed but relatively stable state. I know i am supposed to reverse the axes for the FF2, and I have checked the box in the config to do this. Trimming at the moment seems like the sort of help I don't need. Any ideas from you experienced Hokum drivers?
I love this sim and it's becoming an obsession so if I can't move forward on these issues I will probably go insane!
Thanks in advance for any advice, Notty
