I think I solved my problem.
Even though I opened a support ticket, I saw a long and tortuous road ahead of me to reach a solution. Among the many attempts, in the end the simplest and most decisive one was to update the version of my Windows 10 operating system to 11. I don't know what could have happened in technical detail but this update helped me and now it seems that the SIM does not slow down or crash. I hope that more accurate tests are carried out to avoid going to a mental hospital looking for a solution that is sometimes the simplest.
