  1. looks like im either going to go for a i7-930 and 5830 or 955be and 5850 config.... which is better?
  2. Actually, i think that the 5850 outperforms the GTX 280... but i could be wrong
  3. Okay, i put together a new build cos the old combo deals got scrapped. Also, i managed to save $100 more, making my budget $1100. So, i decided to go with the sapphire vapor x hd 5850 1 gb. Anyone have experience with the 5850 cards? Will they run the game smoothly? Thanks in advance.
  4. Okay, one more question: Does crossfire/sli work in FC2 and Black Shark?
  5. I like the dx11 support of the 5830 though. Three Questions: 1. Will the 4870 or 4890 run DCS:BS and LOMAC on max settings with a decent frame rate 2. Will the 5830 outperform the 4870 or 4890 and will that also run both games on max settings smoothly 3. And what about the 9800 card(s)? Will those run the games on max settings? keep in mind i call smooth gameplay 30+ fps
  6. I am building a new computer, and am looking for a good graphics card for these two games. I was going to get the build with a 5850 off newegg, but the combo deal is out of stock and any other 5850 cards would put it over budget, which is $1000 (U.S. Dollars) Here's the build: Phenom ii x4 955 BE http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103808 650 watt Power supply and HAF 922 case http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.422458 DVD Drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135211 HDD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152181&cm_re=Samsung_500_gb-_-22-152-181-_-Product TrackIR 5 (included in price) http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/products/trackir5/ Mobo and memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.424747 all in all, $759.92, leaving $240.08 for the graphics card So, i was looking at either a HD 5830 or a pair of 9800 GTX+ cards. I was looking at this 9800 card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130339&Tpk=9800 Thanks, any help appreciated! Feel free to comment on the build, its my first one.
  7. Thanks. I was just gonna upgrade the graphics card on my desktop to a Nvidia Geforce 9500. I bet it'll really soup up my performance. BTW I an using Lock On Flaming Cliffs
  8. Thanks Guys! You helped a lot. One more question: I was looking at nvidia graphics cards, and was considiering buying one. I wasn't sure if I could replace it on my laptop. I read somewhere that you have to have a non-default graphics card to replace it. I have a really bad desktop I bought in 2001 that can run Lock On (barely). Specs (they're pretty accurate from what I can remember): 1 ghz 512 mb RAM (I cant really remember the name of the graphics card, but I upgraded it a few years ago and it runs Lock On) Windows XP proffesional Should I just stick with the desktop or try upgrading my laptop? Thanks again
  9. Hi all, I just bought a new laptop. Specs: 2.5 ghz 4 gigs RAM Intel media graphics accelerator Windows Vista 64 I can start the game fine, but when I enter the cockpit of a plane (any) the graphics are mixed up. There are shadows in wrong spots, repeating pictures, and lots of other graphics problems. I've been fiddling with the graphics settings, but they still wont work. Please Help! :helpsmilie:
