  1. Cool, thanx man. I think I've got a much better understanding of it now. Much appreciated.
  2. Ah...I see. Excuse me if I didn't seem appreciative. I am. I'm just confused about it. So how do I navigate using only the ADF? I was finally able to hear some form of tones "morse code". But I don't understand how to use the ADF. I guess I'm just not understanding the manual. Thanx to both of you for your help. ...nevermind I see it. I guess you have to set the ADF to Compass mode.
  3. Thanx for your reply. However, the manual states that the frequencies are set using the R-800LI. "R-800L1 VHF Radio Control System The R-800L1 is a VHF-2 command radio system. The radio system is turned on using the VHF-2 (“УКВ-2”) switch on the right panel. This radio can be used to communicate with other airborne units and provide reception of ADF signals." Further down it states...about the ADF switch on the radio. "4. “АРК” (ADF) switch. When this switch is moved to the up, on position, the radio is used for automatic direction finding (ADF). The radio compass antenna is then connected to the R-800L1 radio receiver, and the receiver controls radio compass antenna direction (this in turn controls direction of the HSI RMI arrow). The HSI RMI arrow will now point in the direction of the transmitter with the frequency that is defined on the R-800L1. [LALT + LCTRL + A] A complete list of available ADF channels can be viewed in the Automatic Direction Finder (ADF) ARK-22 section of this manual."
  4. Hi all, I'm not understanding the ADF and NDB stuff. I'm trying to get a fix for a radio beacon. But when I try to put the frequency into the R-800L1 radio for the outer marker at Krymsk Airfield at 408.00Khz, I can't. The lowest number on the left side of the dial is 11. The highest is 39. How am I to input the numbers? I can find it on the ABRIS. But I was trying to learn how to use the ADF system. Any help is greatly appreciated.
