Yea it doesnt look bad or anything. Just my memory playing tricks I dont remember any white parts being there. EDIT: Was only concerned because if it were a gfx driver issue then I may have ended up with reduced FPS and on my aging rig that would have unbearable.

Yea the black stripe at the top where it has "1 of 2" And how the picture of the mission doesnt fill the page so it has white around it. Im sure it never used to look like that.

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone has encountered this problem before (see attachment) I remember there being an issue with ATI Cards and that version 8.12 of the drivers was best to use. Im using these drivers but can't seem to fix this issue Im running a fresh install of XP so maybe its something I need to install. I have DX9c installed. This occurs with 1.0. Im currentl downloading 1.0.1c patch to see if it fixes it Anyone seen this before? Thanks

From first post my first impressions were, driver issues....BUT. Setting "Run as administrator" seems to have helped significantly in your case. Which doesnt make sense really, running as admin means you have rights to OS protected files and any other files which have User governed priviledges, which should not be used by BS in any instance. Can you do a little more testing to establish whether or not setting "Run as admin" is the result of your performance increase. Just curious, Thanks

Sticky? I think this info should be made sticky. Adjusting defaults (for me) always ends in problems EXCEPT for certain situations and programs. In this instance, changing back to defaults improved FPS. Should this advice not be given to novice users and or tweakers?

EDIT: then I would... Search by signature.? Im trying to find the user that has a sig that goes something along the lines of.. "Joke of the century" ??????-IW Is this a direct port......... No this is the PC version allowing custom graphics etc etc. I dont understand why this is funny, its not a very direct answer admittedly but still makes sense.. kinda. why is this a joke?

Possible I guess. Is the brightness knob a button aswell? If you press it does it reset the brightness to zero? I cant imagine accidentally turning it all the way down as that would require ALT+C to switch to clickable without view mode, then scrolling the mousewheel.

Cant complete courier mission. Ok this is really quite frustrating. Ive "completed" the mission, as in, I have escourted the transports to their LZ and back to base successfully without anyone taking any damage. We've all landed and shut off our engines, but for some reason mission status is still 0% mission not complete. Any ideas? Sometimes will set itself to zero (hud not visible at all) Turning the brightness back up resolves it but why should it go to zero? I will post a track next time it happens.

We'll only once has everyone made it back to the LZ and landed without me receiving the "go to alternate" message from the tower. Yet I still only got 50% Im writting this off as buggy AI

After a bit of reading on the subject apparently it is caused by data going into RAM gets corrupted on its way to the hard drive due to differing frequencies. This only happens on mainboards that have their PCI and RAM frequencies locked to the CPU. But as you said. This is for the hardware forum. Back to subject. I tried that mission again last night, this time I didnt get the "go to alternate" message......until I had landed :mad: now 1 pair of transports had landed and the other pair and my wingie decided to fly north after a couple of laps around the airfield. This is very very strange. EDIT: There is no "alternate" LZ in the briefing
